does anyone who go there feel they get enough of the arts?

My D is going to be a freshman MT student at Pace, and she is taking almost all arts classes to start: Acting, Ballet, Voice, Fundamentals of Music, and Social Photography in New York city. She placed out of English, and was surprised at the courseload!

I think Pace is very flexible about "double dipping" on their core curriculum to allow a student to customize their schedule. I wouldn't be daunted by the listing of gen eds!

Hi! I'm a current musical theatre major at Pace University and I don't think the core is too much at all. Since it is a liberal arts college, the core is required but really depending on the classes you choose, it isn't too difficult at all. In fact I think that taking core or general education classes helps my acting. By taking classes in fields such as Art History or African American studies I able to learn more about the world around me and this knowledge helps me become a better actor and just a more well rounded person. :)
Xoxtinysingerxox, you're exactly right, a conservatory program doesn't have the same core requirements. However in the end it's really about the training. And I can tell you first hand that the training at Pace is amazing! :) So in conclusion you have to decide which type of program fits you best. Its all about fit. And I truly believe you'll end up right where you belong.
Have a great day :)
