Core Curric?

Hey all, i was wondering if the schools i'm considering have core curriculums? The schools are
American
Barnard
Case Western
Columbia
Cornell
CUNY Brooklyn, Hunter
George Washington
Georgetown (College)
NYU
Pomona
Smith
Stanford
SUNY Albany, Bing Stoney
Umich Ann Arbor
USC SF
Wellesley
Yale

I realize that some of these are far reaches, and the like, but i hope i have a broad range. So, which are the schools without core curriculums?

Columbia has a core curriculum.

Most LACs do.

Brown flat out doesn't require ANYTHING.

Wesleyan has these gen-ed "expectations" but they're not required for graduation.

NYU-Gallatin school doesn't have a core curriculum.

I think all the schools on your list have some sort of core curriculum or gen-ed requirement.

Most schools have some kind of "core curriculum". Some, like Columbia, are set apart by having specific classes as part of the core curriculum, as opposed to wide distribution requirements allowing students to merely sample departmental offerings (the Harvard "core").

It is easy enough to check out core/distribution requirements at the individual college web sites. Presumably you will be looking at the sites anyway in helping you decide which colleges to apply to.

Distribution requirements can vary quite a bit in terms of number of courses and what choices you have, so I think it would be best to see if a particular college would offer the experience you want.

Columbia has one of the most hardcore cores out of any school

Same with Chicago...their core is ridiculous.
