Core Curriculum Class Selection

<p>I thought I heard somewhere that Columbia assigns students a professor/class and a time for the core courses (LitHum, Classical Civilizations, etc.), and the only way you can change classes is if you have a scheduling conflict. Is this completely true, or do they at least let you choose the time of your course.</p>
