Is there a foreign language requirement for The College?
If so, does it have to be fullfilled prior to attending UChicago?
And what is the requirement exactly?

The reason I ask is because I am bilingual (speak English and Farsi/Persian) so I did not take a 3rd language in high school. So if there is a foreign language requirement, do I satisfy it or not?

The Core includes a competency requirement. You can meet it by testing, or by taking 2-3 quarters of a language in college. There is a list of many languages in which competency tests can be taken in the Course Catalogue. I’m pretty sure Farsi is OK. There’s no rule against using a language spoken at home to meet this requirement.

As long as you can speak, read, and write well in Farsi, you should pass out of the language requirement.

However, if you’re trying to be admitted to the college, you might want to contact the college on this. I thought they required some foreign language study in high school, even if you already are bilingual, but I don’t really know all the details of such policy.
