Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship Class of 2020

Never mind, just got rejected lol. 36 ACT, rank 1/400, NMF. Not too disappointed, just really, really impressed by those that got it! Congrats guys

I got it at 4:32 today and am RD applicant. And school of engineering.

@jetynz @gphati

I didn’t get it: Accepted Through Mosaic 3.95, 34, got the email at 8:03.

Didn’t get it! Oh well.

Just got the email. Didn’t get in woooo!!! Hahah gg rip me bye Vanderbilt

My daughter received a No email for CV at 5:10pm PST, but application is still being reviewed for acceptance into Vandy.

D did not get CV. The email said less than 200 were awarded out of 6000 applicants. Hopes are still high for acceptance.

Did not get the CV. ACT 35, 4.1 GPA, many APs, 1000 volunteer hours, etc. bye bye Vandy. I didn’t want my child to go to Vandy anyway. Who wants a BA in Biology for pre-med?

Didn’t get the CV

D did not get the CV. ACT 36, GPA 4.0 (unweighted), 8 AP classes with 5s on all AP exams to date, 4 SAT subject tests above 750, plenty of extracurriculars, work experience. Very unlikely that D will go to Vanderbilt even if accepted

Moderator’s note: I sympathize with people who did not get the scholarship. There are only so many to give and many super achievers in the applicant pool. It is hard to distinguish between one 36/35 and another 2400/2350 along with the assorted accomplishments.

It is important recognize that there are people who did receive them and they worked hard for their own achievements too. So please be considerate of others when making your pronouncements. Simply stating you/your kid will not be able to attend is sufficient.

Did not get CV or Chancellor’s. 4.0 (unweighted), 4.58. Valedictorian (1/315) - 36 A+'s, 13 A’s. 12 AP courses - AP Scholar with Distinction. National Merit Finalist. 36 ACT (36M, 36R, 36W, 36S - one sitting). Tons of volunteer hours. Rejected by Stanford - no scholarships at WashU or Vandy - just not sure what is going on. Congrats to all of those who got a scholarship. Vandy and WashU were my 1-2. Now it looks like Purdue here I come. Extremely disappointed.

@HoosierTIA Your stats are indeed impressive. I am sure you will land in a great place and will do extremely well in your undergraduate years too. Vandy does have a few more scholarships to announce so hope for the best! Good Luck!

Congrats to all who got the CV scholarship, you guys deserved it, Celebrate your success!

@dudefromnowhere Thanks. My post sounds really negative, and I apologize. I shouldn’t have posted right after finding out. It just wasn’t meant to be. A huge congratulations and good luck to all of those receiving the CV scholarship.

I didn’t get an email at all. I’m a Blair applicant. Do I have to wait? Any other Blair applicants out there??

Didn’t get the CV scholarship, but still hoping for an acceptance

@Senior2016M I believe Blair announces its CV later. I know last year they had a blog on Vandy’s blog page when the CV was announced that Blair applicants who were CV winners had not been notified yet and that it would follow some days later. I would check with the Blair admissions office. Congrats to all! It is a great opportunity. A friend of mine, also this year’s Blair applicant, has not heard anything yet.

Got the CV! 2240 SAT 3.95 UW GPA. Lots of extracurriculars and service. Very excited! Looks like Vandy is my future

Elizfash just curious what time your email arrived confirming your scholarship
my D received an email from Vanderbilt yesterday with the subject line: Cornelius and Chancellor Scholarship Update but when she opened the email there is only mixed up text and numbers and nothing to coherently read.
