I sent them an email on behalf of all of us.
@whyamilikethis I donât think thatâs it, I applied for Curbâs and Carrell and heard back about CV yesterday.
Has anyone else heard anything? I donât think they notified anyone else yesterday so Im really hoping todayâs the day!
I emailed them and no response!
Should I call them? Do you think thats too pushy?
No, I think its okay, especially since so many other people have heard back already
Check your spam first though.
let me know what they say @m321123
They are not answering my calls. Im so confused. This whole process is so confusing and disorganized
Calling / emailing them will not move this faster. In fact, if they took time to answer everyone individually it would slow them down. I know the wait is excruciating for some, but it is what it is. Iâm sure they will get the info out as soon as they can. That said, it would be beneficial to EVERYONE (college staff and prospective students/parents) if they would send out more blanket updates; like âwe expect to announce between date A and date Bâ, along with updates like âdue to the high volume of applications the date is now between date C and date Dâ. Something to keep everyone from calling, emailing, guessing, and stressing. But for those applying to several other schools, this is common. All 3 remaining elites on DS list have given very little information.
My son was notified of his selection for the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship on Wednesday.
@GaBassin - sure, PM me.
Im almost sure at this point that if you werenât notified about acceptance/rejection for Cornelius, its a rejection (based on past threads)
I got in Wednesday.
Itâs just weird that some people have received a rejection already.
Do you think we will get any news on Monday (March 12th) Looks like the only wave of rejections /applications which went out were on March 7 (wednesday) .May be they will roll out next phase next week.Trying best to stay sane/positive
D18 recâd rejection email for both CV and Chancellor on Wednesday 3/7 at 9:12pm. She is an ED applicant for Peabody, has shown good interest (1 gen tour, 1 Black and Gold Day, and an alumnae interview). Her basic stats are: 33 ACT (34 super), 4.46wtGPA, IB program with Chemistry HL, 11th/351 well rated public high school, 3 APs, Natâl Merit Commended Student, 3 strong EC leadership roles including President of Service Club and Captain of Swim Team, tons of service hours and a variety of service activities, excellent LoR and good but not Pulitzer style essays. I truly believe that the process is holistic (meaning they look for a variety of candidates to keep the campus diverse - and not just by race and creed but by personality and major) because I see so many 36ACTs getting rejected as well. D18 still has 3 schools to hear from RD (Vandy, Wake and Wm&Mary) but also accepted to 3 amazing schools with EA decisions (UVA, Richmond and Furman) plus 3 good state schools. It will all work out and she is applying to as many outside scholarships as she can ⊠but I just have to say this RD waiting until April 1st is the pits; wish they all had EA options! Congratulations to the winners on both your scholarship and acceptance!! And Good luck to the other EDs out there still waiting⊠and waiting⊠and waitingâŠ
@ASKMother how on earth does she have a 4.46 weighted GPA w only 3 APs that is mathematically impossible (highest gpa you could have w 3 APs in highschool would be 4.125)
What if those who have received the CV rejections they are planning on accepting into the school, and those who hace not heard anything they are planning on denying. It makes sense to save time (although I really hope that I am wrong because I have not heard anything). Another theory is maybe they only sent CV rejections to those who did not apply to additional (and maybe still undecided scholarships) like Curbâs scholarship and then they will send the news for both of those at the same time.
My D applied to both the CV and Curb and only got a rejection for the CV. I donât think she got the Curb - just never heard anything. @ProllyBrokeSoon
