Thanks guys

looks like you have more going for you than i did, and i got an interview.

Emoticon - Interview? for the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship? did you apply ED? My d applying regular decision. Did we miss something?

The small size of your high school works against you, especially if you're not the top student at that high school. I can tell you from experience that your class rank + Vanderbilt's own internal ranking of your high school are very important factors in screening candidates. Most students invited to interview are top 1% from large high schools (private or public magnet).
While you have a distinguishing factor (your medical issues) it's not the result of your individual merit.

Ultimately, this is something that's impossible to predict. A lot of very talented students apply to Vanderbilt and only a very small few get invited to interview for this scholarship. You have a chance, so don't be discouraged, but remember that it's unlikely even for the most qualified student.

I am guessing the OP goes to St. X in Louisville which will not hurt him. They have a strong record with Vanderbilt acceptances/matriculations. One of S's best friends at Vandy was a St. X kid. I have a friend from Louisville whose kids went to St. X and the one who applied to Vanderbilt was accepted, although he ended up going to a better ranked school.

nope, he goes to KCD.

Thanks for the replies guys. jeja how did u know I go to KCD? And yea I'm most likely 2nd in my class probably cause we have a genius in my grade.

you said so in another post
