Cornell 2015 ED Hopefuls

dontfeedsparky
Had my alum interview about a week or two before actually applying. I contacted her myself  so it was about about a month ago.

hahaha superexcited you actually sound superexcited! Actually it went well, I talked about my extracurriculars and that I was well-rounded, why I wanted to go to Cornell, etc. etc. I also went to summer college, so we talked about the dorms and the campus a little bit. He said I was a good fit for the school, so I’m guessing positive report? Very informative, learned stuff about the career center at Cornell, Greek life, campus feuds, that type of stuff.

Nice, nice. Sounds like a good interview/meeting. And yes, I am super excited, though I’m not really sure why because my chances of getting into Cornell are slim…

On my Cornell app tracker it says Cornell still hasn’t received my payment yet, so they cannot process my materials.

Anyone else having this problem?

!! check commonapp if you’ve paid and then call/email admissions if you have. Don’t worry I’ve called them for a million things they probably know my name already.

And you should be excited! Super, I think you’ll be OK - a lot of my friends are freaking out that Cornell’s a huge reach for them, but I really don’t think it is. Honestly, I hope all of you get in, but I should speak for myself first haha. I just can’t wait to go to school with everyone.

If on the common app, it has the green arrow for payments, you should be fine. Just allow the office process the information and the information should be updated in a few days or so. The huge influx of applications towards the end of October will probably take the processing a little bit longer.

I think that standardized test score wise, I’m in the range, but everything else… fail. LOL. Oh well, we’ll have to see in a month or so. Does anyone know if Cornell sends out likely letters?

I’m not the only person here who still hasn’t received his applicant ID am I? I was probably one of the last people to submit it. 11pm on November 1st

commonapp says Cornell downloaded my application on 10/29, but I have not received my ID yet… I’m so frustrated checking email every hour T.T

I’m glad I’m not the only one haha. Mine says it was downloaded on 11/2.

Check your SPAM folder for your app id e-mail thats where mine was. My payment status also states payment not received. I sent it in on Friday 10/29. In the FAQ section they say give it 5-7 business days to show up in your status so if it doesnt change by next Monday I will send a note. I didnt think you could submit the common app without a payment so I am a bit surprised at the non payment status. Good luck to all!
CALS class 2015

superexcited, i talked to a few current students/adcoms recently , and they said that only like 5% get likely letters… so they’re really rare.

I received my ID! actually it was sent on 11/2, but somehow I could not see it in my yahoo email account. then I changed into the ā€œnew version yahoo mailā€ and it is there! how strange……

austrian do you know if they send likely letters for early decision though?

Also, for those who are worried about not getting their ID or having their payments processed and whatnot, the admissions office probably received a lot of applications last minute, so they will take a while to update the information. As long as it says ā€œDownloadedā€ on your commonapp, I wouldn’t worry too much.

I received my applicant ID today  Does anybody know how long college board takes to send your SAT scores though? I ordered them to be sent 2 weeks ago and Cornell has apparently not received them yet

I’m applying ED to Cornell ILR!

Applied ED CoE for ChemE! Soooo nervous…
And question for anyone who may know: I’m taking the Bio subject test tomorrow to fulfill the requirement, but not sure how well I’ll do on it since I haven’t had Bio since freshman year… If the rest of my app is fairly solid, do you know how much this subject test will be taken into account for admission? Thanks!!

dontfeedsparky, i think they do… and i think they said end of november if I remember correctly. but theyre like really rare apparently.

Bear93, to be honest I wouldn’t worry too much about it because it’s the november test so they might not even receive the score in time to make their decision (because i think i remember them saying that they might have already made their decision by the time the november score arrives) and also, subject tests dont count THAT much anyways and if the rest of your app is solid, I think that’s good enough. but still, good luck!

Applying to Cornell Arts & Sciences here.

Pretty nervous because I am pretty sure I’m going to get deferred but worth a try right?
Also, I’m worried about the payment. I mailed my fee waiver like on the 26th but online it still says not paid yet. Probably overthinking it but argh, the wait is unbearable.

Good luck, everyone. =D

@austrianpog- Thanks, same to you! And I really hope it doesn’t count for too too much ha
@CommonerCoffee- Don’t worry you aren’t alone, that’s about when I mailed my fee waiver too (we got a sender receipt saying it arrived the 28th) but they still haven’t updated it on the site for me yet… Hoping they are just busy!
And I totally forgot we can get deferred, wow. Does that happen to a lot of ED applicants?
Good luck to everyone as well! :)
