Cornell 2015 ED Hopefuls

@bear93- no problem! and thanks!

and i was wondering the same thing… what percentage from ED gets deferred? and what percentage of those defered actually gets admitted in the spring? thanks!!

I don’t know the exact percentages, but about 1/3 are accepted ED, 1/3 deferred, and 1/3 rejected. If you are deferred, the percentage that is admitted in the spring is pretty low, could be around or under 10%.

I think that if you’re not gonna get in ED, you’re not gonna get in when you’re deferred, unless you do something outstanding in-between that window period.

@MT8989 WOOOO Another ILR applicant!

thanks for the stats tskdbx!

and i think i agree with you superexcited.

yellowsnowman:
SAT SCORESSSSSS
i sent them 2 weeks ago too but my app status says they did not recieve them yet
i found out today that collegeboard was holding my scores b/c i didn’t take the november sat
i’m so nervous I sent a rush report today but i dont know if they’re going to get them in time
:(

Does Cornell accept rush reports? I know that some schools don’t accept rush reports, so you should check to make sure. (Not trying to worry you or anything).

omg *** o_O I’m taking the November SAT as well. Looks like I’ll be contacting collegeboard and the admissions office tomorrow after taking the SAT. I don’t understand what the problem is though. If they’re sending the scores electronically then why don’t they just send them now…

on my application status it says sent for review, but does this mean they got both my teacher recs or no?

Mine says the same thing, Superexcited has your status changed, will we get more details in the coming days?
Thanks

I called the admissions office and they said they accept rush reports
I think I’m going to cancel the one I took today though :(

@cornellededed: ha ha CR today is the toughest I have ever taken. I also want to cancel my score =(.
Btw, how could they receive my package but not my fee waiver contained? In my account it is stated that I have not sent my fee or fee waiver requests :(

When do you find out if you got in? I know they say mid-December but I’m wondering specific date-- does that mean December 15th, or just around that time?

It varies from year to year. Last year it was December 10th, I believe. Does anyone know when they’re going to tell us when they will be telling us if we got in?

“If you have sent application materials, please do not send duplicate copies. After you have sent a document electronically or by mail it will take 7-10 business days for it to be received, processed, and appear on your application status. The estimated processing time will increase at peak times.” If your application has not been updated (even though you submitted everything), then just be patient, I suppose.

@ceresma Nope, my status hasn’t changed. “If you applied early decision, we will notify you in mid-November if we are missing materials from your application and will provide you with an opportunity to submit those materials.” I’m guessing that’s the next time we will be hearing from them. No word yet on the exact date of notification… unfortunately.

Does anyone have a link for the ED rates per college for 2010 or previous years? I can find the overall ED rate, but nothing for each college.

Apparently I only requested to send my scores from the November test (today) instead of my previous scores. Their website is honestly set up so badly and it’s not user friendly at all. I just got off the phone with them and had them send my scores (not rushed). Also, I agree with babyboom, CR was really difficult today :confused: I also spaced out through most of the CR.

I believe they have sent decisions on a Thursday the past two years, so we should receive ours on December 9th or 16th and looking at the dates for the last two years (10th and 11th) I think it should be on the 9th this year.

I really hope it’s the 9th! I don’t know if I can wait another week haha, so impatient. Also, @yellowsnowman I had the same problem and had to call them, they rushed my scores and Cornell finally updated my self-service site, so they have all the necessary stuff except the science subject test, which I took today. Does anyone know how they use the subject tests in admission (like as an important factor or just if you’re on the fence?) b/c not sure I did so awesome :confused: Also, does anyone know the average scores for subject tests for CoE?
Good luck to everyone who took the SAT’s today! If it seemed hard, that just means the curve will be better :)

@yellowsnowman:
mine was like that too!
but did you call the admissions office? they told me to send a rush report :(

I applied ED for AAP (fine arts) with CAS as my alternate choice.

Any Cornell Summer College 2010 alums? :)
