Cornell 2015 ED Hopefuls

Uh oh. I’m filling it out now and for Cornell it says “Early Filing: 01-Nov-2010.” Does that mean it’s too late?

CSS profile was due on 11/1 for ed applicants.

yeah i’m having the same problem with the financial aid to-do list (or lack thereof)…i’m sure it’ll resolve itself. they probably just haven’t had enough time to process everything (I hope…)

I am so confused. What is the CSS profile? I was an ED and have done nothing with financial aid profiles so far. My financial aid to do list has had nothing listed.

I thought the fin aid deadline is the same for ED? You really should be acting now or lose your chance at getting fin aid :P

Financial aid is pretty lax about their deadlines. I sent mine around the time when decisions came out last year and still got a timely response.

TskDbx, you are Cornell '15? Don’t you mean Cornell '14?

Drelnis: Not necessarily, if TskDbx is in the 5-year AAP program.

Do you guys know when it is?

I heard Dec. 9th.

Is that for sure?

Nope, we’re just guessing lol

I sent my CSS profile this Friday (11/12). It was due 11/1 though… I hope that won’t be a problem since I really need a good financial aid package. Also, I had my meeting with a Cornell alumnus today and it went really really well  I hope it actually counts for something

I submitted my CSS profile like 11/05, so I think it should be fine. On the other hand, I just read about W-2 forms and other forms that have to be signed by your parents and it was supposed to be submitted by Nov. 1st:

A copy of your and your parents’
signed 2006 federal income tax
returns, including all schedules and
W-2 forms, to the Application
Processing Center**

It’s from the “requirements” link on your application status page when you log into your account.

Did we have to submit this? I’m pretty sure my parents threw their 2006 tax forms out already.

:/ Just when I thought I was done with everything. I’ll call the financial aid office tomorrow to see what else I need to send. Also, are you sure that requirement grid isn’t outdated?

I have no idea, which is why I posted this here for others to enlighten me on this issue. You’re really helping me out by calling the financial aid office. Please post their response when you have a chance to.

I will. There is a possibility that I won’t be able to call tomorrow though since they close at 4 pm (I believe). I have to tutor and work until around 6 pm, but I’m going to try to call them.

https://www.finaid.cornell.edu/finaid/apply/prospects/20112012early.cfm</a></p>

That says that only the CSS Profile, noncustodial parent profile, and residency documentation is due november 1st. FAFSA, and tax forms are due February 15th. I’ll still try to call tomorrow though

I emailed them about the 2006 tax forms and whatever, and they said that that’s an old copy. Just follow the new guidelines, which is the CSS profile due on Nov 1st.

I emailed them as well and they told me tax forms and W2s are due February 15th. They also told me they would be retrieving the submitted CSS forms within the next 2 weeks. If all goes well, I should be getting a $48,700 grant from Cornell according to their financial aid calculator. Assuming I get accepted :/
