Cornell 2015 ED Hopefuls

@allnycolleges
If you emailed them then all you can do is wait till tomorrow and see if they email you back.
If they don’t by 2-3pm, you should call the admissions office.

allny check your SPAM folder too

I cannot believe how close we are to decision day. I hope we all get in. What are everyone else’s alternate universities? My second choice is Stanford.

My second choice is also Stanford. If I get rejected/deferred I’ll most likely also be applying to harvard, yale, carnegie, georgia tech, umich, and duke. The only other place I’ve applied to so far is UF

I don’t want to rain on your parade, but if you can’t get into Cornell, then Stanford isn’t very likely as well. But of course, the admission process to such prestigious universities is a crapshoot, and anything can happen.

But for me, my second choice would be NYU.

yeah, I know, but it’s worth a try

good luck y’all
zaara, I admire you trying for stanford if you don’t get into cornell.
but know that stanford / yale scea or regular are like by far (with a few others like mit, harvard) some of the most difficult schools to get admitted, even with a “hook”.
stanford, yale, etc is kind of a different stratosphere of school, in terms of getting in and prestige factor
they are way, way harder to get in than cornell, but you never know
good luck

Only two days… the first time i feel time past so slow…
i wish i could get in

^You know when else time passes slowly? Double period science.

1 day, 18 hours, 27 minutes

icey,

“hello out there. I’ve been watching this thread for the last week and just read somewhere on cc about the cornell ed myth. Yes, they say they give an edge to ed applicants and they even said that at the info session. But even with that edge, rd may make more sense for a lot of people who don’t have any kind of hook. If anything like 1/2 of the ed acceptances are sport or other hooked admits, then everyone in the other 1/2 is with an extremely super strong pool of applicants, possibly giving them a harder chance ed than they would have had rd. The posts here at cc about the myth of unhooked cornell EDers having a better chance ed may be right. is it really a myth that ed gives an unhooked applicant a better chance at Cornell?
I hope everybody is lucky and gets in to the cornell college they want.”

good point, but if you want to apply ed you have no other choice.
even if an unhooked has a better chance rd instead of ed at cornell, which may be true, a lot of people are trying to save money on applications and go ed

It’s yearbook photo day today at school so we don’t have classes, today’s going pretty quickly for me :D

Tomorrow I’ve got double free periods and Glee rehearsal in the afternoon, so that’ll go quickly as well.

CANNOT wait for my decision!

yellow: I really like your determination
but I don’t think there are many (if any) people who don’t get into cornell and get into a top school like stanford. the opposite may be often true.
but you may be the one do it.
good luck

I just hope I get into Cornell and don’t have to worry about other applications haha. I heard of someone who was rejected from Stanford early action but got accepted into MIT, Harvard, Yale, and several other schools during regular decision.

Yellow: seems logical - Stanford is by many accounts not only the most difficult to get into, but also the most desirable in terms of location, academics, top sport teams etc…
Stanford is probably the most difficult school to get into in the country. I don’t think it really compares in any way to a school like cornell - not that cornell is not a great school itself, but just not anything like Stanford which is one of the most prestigious in the country. wishing you good luck.

I know that a school like Stanford will be more difficult to get into than Cornell, but with these schools, applying there is like gambling; you need to throw in the application and wait for fate to take its course. (Though if you win the Junior Nobel Prize I am sure you will have better chances).

Though a girl in my school a few years ago won the Junior Nobel Prize and ended up in U Penn (we all thought that she would get into Harvard).

I’m also going to apply to Brown and Yale in case (God forbid) I do not get into Cornell. There are people who got into H,Y or P and not into Cornell in previous years’ decision threads so don’t give up hope :D

At the moment, I absolutely hate college confidential and how badly it has screwed with my already terrible procrastination habits -__-

im suffering from a serious case of senioritis, guys.

practically all of my As are borderlines; by that, i mean those 90.something ones…

and i have 2 B+s…

so basically, if i get rejected from cornell, im ****ed for other schools…

might as well force myself to fall in love with UC berkeley or something…

sigh…

Berkeley ain’t that easy either, hamstar! But I feel ya; my senioritis is terrible. I wonder if I’ll be motivated enough to work hard in college… Anyone else questioning their ability right now?

Lol no college is easy.
