Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

@beachbum0130‌ They want it by then but I sent it after that date too because I didn’t realize they wanted it that early. Just get it in ASAP once the IDOC email comes

Does anyone know what the rule is on deferred acceptances ie) if you get accepted as a transfer for Fall of 2015, can you defer that admission offer until the following academic year, or do you need to reapply? I’m starting to get concerned about financing three years of an Ivy vs. just two, and I’m wondering if it would be smarter to save money by going to my current school another year.

@MOHighschooler You’ve got in?

I think you’d have to reapply—from what I remember, only freshmen admits are given the option to defer their admission! If your financial aid offer turns out to be insufficient, you should contact the FA office to see what your options are.

I’m a GT and have been waiting an entire year for my official decision! Let’s hope we all hear back soon

Hi guys,

I wonder what’s the odds of transferring into Cornell as a Mechanical Engineering major Sophomore? Cheers.

Anyone know if it’s easier to get into CALS as a transfer if you’re a NY resident?

Has anyone’s application been sent for review? They are still missing one document even though I sent it late Feb. Should I resend it again?

Mine says “Your materials have been received. Your application has been forwarded to the admissions staff for review.” Does it literally mean that my application is now being reviewed by the admission committee?

@OrangeJ I’ve seen the posting that asks not to resend any duplicate copy. What about sending an email and ask?

I heard they were behind on processing, so that might be why your documents haven’t shown up yet. Mine says “sent for review” on the bottom of my checklist too.

It’s just that they also said not to send an email and will notify students about missing documents later. Since cornell is on rolling notification will I be at a disadvantage since mine is still not under review? When did all of you submit your documents? Thanks.

@cassat‌ Hey, I am getting that access denied error too. Did yours ever get fixed?

Hi guys, I was just wondering when exactly you received the notice that your application was sent in review? I also have two missing documents because my midterm report was also submitted later on since my midterm grades weren’t available for a while. Does this put us at a big disadvantage? Last year, the admissions decisions came out mid April I think, so it’s getting a bit late and I’m getting worried.

Mine is under review too. What majors are you guys applying to? I’m applying to architecture. Gosh! Why didn’t I choose a less competitve major?

All my documents were received in 03/17, and I got the “sent for review” message a week later.

Anyone else applying to plant sciences?

How long does it usually take between file being sent for a review and the decisions coming out?

Forever

Haha I expected that

Also, wonder why this year there’re fewer people active on forum, compared to last year… This is kind of unsettling…
