No, I don’t intend to.

What are you majoring in IV (assuming you get in, which I’m sure you will with your baller scores/grades)?

@rotflmaospencer:
At the moment I am between Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics for a major (after I am well into my AP Chemistry course I will probably know whether or not I want to pursue it; taking Calculus BC will give me some insight into college level math as well).
I also want to minor in Astronomy (as Cornell has one of the best Astronomy programs in the country and I have a lot of interest in it).

I hope to be a Neurobiology major!
I believe that is in the College of Arts and Sciences…

Any other future hotelies? I’m planning to apply ED to the Hotel School.

Starting the great college application year at Cornell.
Stats: SAT 2280 (CR 790, Math 770, W 720)
SAT II World Hist 770 (Waiting on Math II and Physics)
AP World Hist 4, Latin 5 (Waiting on Calc BC, Physics EM and Eng. Lit)
Rank 1/292 in blue collar PA high school
Comments appreciated.

does anyone know the acceptance rate (ED & RD) for CAS not the whole university? I seriously can’t find it…

Doesn’t show Ed but this may help:

http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000146.pdf

So, for those of you who don’t feel like figuring out that chart, the CAS 2009 overall acceptance rate was 16.7%. That number will probably continue to do down–although nothing is certain.

@scoutsmom- your son/daughter wouldn’t happen to be a Conrad Weiser Scout, would they?

@CornelHopeful, no we’re not that PA high school.

We took the Cornell Engineering College tour, and came away with the impression that Cornell does its best to give the students hands-on, real life experiences in engineering - and that for sure I’m too old for college - too many stairs!!
Our guide talked mostly about the project teams he was on and the competitions in his classes to “make the best” of something. He was a second year mechanical engineering student, but he did say that every engineering program is designed to make the engineering education practical and useable in the real world.

^ Took a general tour and I remember something about an annual Dragon Day between first-year Engineering and Architecture students.

Jersey = yes! I remember that too. it happens on the last day before spring break and apparently the Architecture students always win

I’m probably going to ED to the hotel school

Applying ED for College of Human Ecology. Taking a campus tour July 16th. I’m super excited!

Looks like not many people are doing ED to CALS like me. However, I still can’t decide on a minor at CALS…

Do you think it is too risky for a Canadian to ED Cornell (for the financial aid…the new policy has cut back on a lot of aid for Canadians)? I really like Cornell after researching it and plan to visit.

I’m not applying ED but I might apply to CALS AEM.

Hey Jersey, where are you applying ED?

I’m not applying ED anywhere. Currently deciding between Stanford/Yale for REA/SCEA though.

^ Jersey, I would recommend going with Yale. Stanford seems to care a lot less about ultra-high scorers (which I will define as 2390 or 2400). In the decisions threads from 2014 and 2013, only 1/10 such people was accepted early at Stanford. At Yale, it was 8/21.
