Can you tell me about the class sizes? (not the freshment class..im talking about a class in a course) I know there are some numbers but they only give me ranges of class sizes. can current cornellians (or acceptees if you guys know) tell me something about the class sizes?

Some, not all, intro classes can be LARGE, several hundred, but are taught by professors. Then they break down into SMALL review groups led by a TA or professor. Note: taught by professor, reviewed with TA.

Once you get out of intro classes, class size drops dramatically. I've heard of classes with only 2 or 3 students and a professor.

Your frosh writing seminar is maximum 18 students. I do know that for a fact. perhaps you could post your question in the Q&A on classof2009.cornell.edu if you're an accepted student.

As a history major who took a lot of classes in English, Govt., and philosohy, after freshman year, I had 7-10 people in my classes on average.

it is often not the large class size that is frustrating, but the fact that they have caps, and it is vey hard to get into them...even if the cap is high...my classes have consistently turned away many people because it was too full...psych 101 for example, after moving to the statler usually has such an enormous waiting list, that you almost have to be a freshman to get in and have to sign up the first couple of hours of coursenroll! (although a few of my friends were in it as sophmores)

so for me, it would be less class size and more "can I get into a class that I want?"
