Cornell Academics?

How difficult is Cornell as a freshman and what classes do people typically take?
I'm going to be a Computer Science Major and I'm pretty familiar with programming languages already (I've made many websites ands applications over the years).

What is the easiest English class? What is the best route for a CompSci person with experience?

I’m only going to be a freshman next year too, so I’m not an expert, but I’m going to major in CS in the College of Engineering, and I was planning on taking Chem, CS 2110, Multivariable Calculus, a writing seminar, and an intro to engineering course. No idea about which English classes are easy, though I’d love to know as well.

Some input from someone who has actually been through this already would be nice though, I agree.

I’m not a CS major but I can definitely advice on easy English classes.

FWS can be a hit or miss depending on your TAs. Do not take FWS from english departments if English is not your strong suit bc they usually put their students at higher standards since your TAs are going to be from English departments. I had the misfortune of taking comparative literature from the english department, had to work really hard for that A-.

Take FWS from film departments, linguistics, etc. Or take introduction to creative writing. That is usually an engineer favorite since you don’t work that hard and the median is always an A. Just keep in mind creative writing is usually offered as a sophomore class so it really depends on your schedule.
