Right now I’m a rising junior with a 3.5 gpa unweighted but if I were to get 96+ on all my aps (5 this year) and get above a 1550 on my sat, do I have a shot at getting into Cornell? (Considering my extracurriculars pretty good)
If you do very well in your junior year of high school, it will help you significantly in terms of getting into good universities when you start to apply about a year from now.
You should think about universities in addition to Cornell. Focusing on one highly selective university is rarely a good idea.

2018 data should be up somewhere similar, but I would expect they are about the same. Having a strong SAT score helps for sure, but I’m not sure that overrides having a low GPA. Plenty of kids with great stats didn’t get into Cornell last year; regular decision admit rate was 8-9%.
