hi,
I am an international student applying to cornell(college of arts and sciences)
I have an excellent high school record, and everything required for admission, except a good SAt:math770 w540 r590 I still have an 800 in mathl2. I am appying for physics What are my chances?

Hi your Math scores look good however the CR & W are really quite low for Cornell. If you have excellent grades and EC’s you have a shot but if you have time I’d take another shot at the SAt’s. I also think that CAS requires 2 SAT2 tests however you should check the admissions page to verify. Good luck!

makes any diff that I am applying for a math related course, physics? I got a 770 in physics unfortunately one thing I have run out of is time

I just checked CAS (Arts & Sciences) they require 2 SAT2 tests Did you already apply ED?

yes, as I said I have a perfect physics record and a 770 on SATII

what other SATII did you take?

math l2 800

I think they mainly look at the Math and CR (SAT reasoning test) I believe that the writing is not much of a factor if any. One score will likely not exclude you (just as a 2400 does not insure acceptance). As you have already applied ED (me too) we will know in 3 weeks. I would pick some backups just incase you get deferred (I’m doing that now as well) good luck!
