Cornell Advice

Hi, i was wondering what i should do. i want to apply to Cornell ED, and i know that you can list a first and second choice of schools if you do that.
i want to major in english, but i don't know if i have good enough stats to et into the arts and sciences school. my second choice would be ag and a mjor in communications, but a friend suggested that i put ag as my first choice, since i'm from nj and it's a bit easier to get into. i would then transfer to arts and sciences as soon as possible , as i have heard it's easier to transfer within cornell.
i wanted to know if anyone thought this was a good idea, or would work, or if i have good enough stats to get into arts and sciences.
SAT: 2000 (720 CR 670 Math 610 W, but i'm retaking it in oct.)
GPA: 3.8 unweighted
APs: 5 cumulative
ECs: Fencing= 3 years
Debate= 1 year
And various clubs, though i am the president of none.
i also attended the summer college program at cornell, and have a reccomendation from the teacher of the class, though i'm not sure if that helps.
thanks so much, and please help!

They (CALS primarily) can sniff out potential immediate internal transfers pretty well. The sneaky backdoor doesn't work very often. You can attempt it if you like.

Transfering into a private college from a state endowed one is harder. The truth is if you cant get into the AandS then you probably dont deserve to be there, right?

I think you would have a chance although you don't demonstrate much leadership. Is there anything else you did that demonstrated leadership? If not that, high academics would be needed and you would need to get that SAT score up. The GPA should be fine.

i coached rec track, i don't know i that counts.
additionally, i was wondering what people think of the communication major at cornell, if it's interesting and stuff.

I feel like you should retake the SAT to increase your verbal/writing scores if you're going to apply as an Enligsh major to Arts.
