I was admitted early to CALS. I've heard many great things about AEM and done as much research about it as I can. I am trying to see if anyone here knows much about how well AEM graduates are recruited into Wall Street. I will be putting down some pretty big loans if I end up deciding to attend and want to see if anyone knows how well they will pay off.

Thanks.

Wall Street is more about networking. Do realize that as an AEM major you will face competition from all other colleges/majors at Cornell’s campus. Just because you’re the only accredited business major at Cornell does not mean you’re the only one qualified to work on Wall Street.

Yeah, of course. They want smart people, engineers, history majors, math majors, etc. It just happens to be that I would be in AEM. I am just wondering about the opportunities I would have. I realize there is cutthroat competition.
Does anyone know the chances of AEM majors breaking into investment banking or any finance related fields?

I understand that the Ivies, in general, place well on Wall Street. Would being at Cornell give me an opportunity for some summer internships and other ways to network?

this year was horrible with internship placements…like only 2 people per firm were selected

but probably by the time you’re a junior here at cornell the economy will have turned around…so just keep your grades as high as possible and have decent ECs and such…

i know the aem major offers concentrations in various fields but it seems most people end up in ibanking/wall st, is this true?

Internship placement this year has been tougher, but certainly not impossible. My friend who is a math/econ double major landed a summer internship with blackrock.
