the main reason why cornell was ranked 14 in business week is because some moron forgot to give them our average SAT scores, so we were given a 1 out of 6 in that category

Thank you!

Wow, its weird to see something I did listed under the other accomplishments section of the admissions update.

i would expect the SAT median to be a lil higher

cthat is lower than cornell on average, it just goes to show u that the program has a way to go.....

16% offered admission i'm sure cornell could be rather picky about SAT scores. I'm guessing they realize that SAT score does not predict success in business.

Still...those SATs are mad low. I would think that the Verbal would be at least 700...having good writing/reading/speaking skills would be essential to business I'd imagine.

I looked for those types of stats in ILR but I couldn't find them. Did you have some secret to finding those? lol thnx

"the main reason why cornell was ranked 14 in business week is because some moron forgot to give them our average SAT scores, so we were given a 1 out of 6 in that category"

Does this have any truth to it? Where did you hear this?

Ya I've actually been thinking about this...

"The academic abilities and diversity of the 136 admitted students were exceptional. Their median SAT was 1360, with 44% reporting SAT scores of 1400 or better."

That does seem rather low, and with less than half of the kids having 1400 or better? But it does say there was a lot of leadership skills reflected by the students, and over half had work experience at big firms.

If you know about Cornell, then you know that SAT's aren't everything...the complete person REALLY does matter...

Heh, 14th....that's ridiculous.

AEM is FAR better than the ranking received.

My AEM friends and I also had SAT's far above 1400, so that doesn't really apply to everyone.

well, there was a kid on my floor in AEM, i am not even kidding, he was from rural upstate new york, his sat score, u won't believe me

1060

he is a nice kid, but i mean, he wasn't really academically fit to be in such a rigorous environment. He was getting Cs in intro econ.

LOL, I will say though, there are definitely a lot of dumb AEM majors.

There are also a lot of intelligent ones, but I can't say they comprise the majority.

but isnt AEM the hardest program to get into, so shouldnt it have some of the smartest majors?

No. AEM looks for a certain type, and I don't believe it's the hardest program to get into. Even if it does have the lowest admit rate, which I don't think is necessarily even the case for this year, AEM doesn't look for the same criteria that A&S and Engineering look for.

I have heard that AEM is very hard to get into so I think you are stereotyping based on a few people that you have met...I mean I doubt the majority of any type of people at Cornell are stupid...
