I read the CAS Cornell admissions website "recommends" two subjects tests but when I called the admissions office, they said many applicants do not submit Subject test scores.

Has anyone else heard this? Does anyone now what percent of CAS applicants submit? (The admissions person did not have a ready number.)

I don’t know where you are getting your info but Cornell CAS reqire two subject tests for admission and you won’t be accepted without them (your admission file will be deemed incomplete without them.

In more than one place on its site, Cornell says two subjects test are required for the College of Ars & Sciences:

…they recommend a math & science. If seriously considering Cornell & it is “recommended” you need to take them. Although the actual scores may have little bearing on admission, I would do everything “recommended”.
