Cornell Applicants Class of 2013

<p>I couldn't find an official thread for this, so I made one. Anyone applying to ED this year? I'm applying for ED engineering.
Here's my stats(I copied the formatting from one of the other threads):
Objective:</p>

<pre><code>* SAT I (breakdown):none
* ACT:32 w/o writing, retaking
* SAT II:770 M2, taking Phys in Oct
* Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0):
* Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable):top 5%-this is a really bad indication of my rank, because at my school APs and honors weigh the same. So if you had to take a general class(like french 2 for me), your gpa gets messed up. Theres only like 13 ppl in my school(304, seniors)with 4.0, only 2 are guys...
* AP (place score in parenthesis):Calc AB (5), BC(4), Bio(5), US History(4), Lang(5), Chinese(5), World (5),
* IB (place score in parenthesis):
* Senior Year Course Load:4 AP(physics, lit, euro, french), Calc III at university, senior mentoring project at university lab
* Major Awards:TEAMs regional 1st 2 years; various full or near full scholarships to many in state schools; 1st in engineering day programming;
</code></pre>

<p>national french exam state winner 3 yrs;
Subjective:</p>

<pre><code>* Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Beta club (president), TEAMS (leader), FIRST robotics starter, NHS, Academic team, KYA, soccer
* Job/Work Experience: Work at university of Kentucky's visualization center, build robots, cool machines, multi-projector screens, commercialize devices.
* Volunteer/Community service:Non-profit student orchestra that plays for nursing homes; Beta club and NHS stuff; spread awareness of organ donation in school and city; part of a video game production for a senior's mentoring project;
* Summer Activities:Governor scholar's program; where they send you to a college during the summer for 5 weeks and you take classes-all free. Also once was mentored by a CS professor at UK and learned many programming languages.
* Essays: hopefully will be good
* Teacher Recommendation:hopefully will be good
* Counselor Rec: probably nothing much to expect
* Interview:maybe?
</code></pre>

* Country (if international applicant):
* School Type:Public

</code></pre>

<p>Can other ED applicants post their stats as well? Do I stand a good chance?</p>

<p>I assume you're chinese by your username. You have a really good chance if you ED. Just so you know, there are no interviews for the College of Engineering.</p>

<p>Isn't there an informal interview that's more informative than for the evaluation for admission? And yes, I'm Chinese. I came to the US 8 years ago, I guess this fact doesn't help much in the whole admission probabilities since I've been here for so long.</p>

<p>Your not really a URM</p>

<p>yeah, I didn't say I was. I was referring to english being a second language as a hook and how it really isn't much since I've been here so long.</p>

<p>Even if you didn't come here that long ago you're an ORM.</p>

<p>"yeah, I didn't say I was. I was referring to english being a second language as a hook and how it really isn't much since I've been here so long."</p>

<p>Read your own posts buddy, you very clearly said you thin k your a urm.</p>

<p>"* Hooks (URM)"</p>

<p>Read his posts buddy. He copied a form. The only hook he said he may have is a potential patent.</p>

<p>yeah, like Darkstar said. URM is just an example of what a hook is. Let me just clarify that I'm not an URM and not a first gen college student.</p>
