I submitted my commonapp & the supplement to Cornell (and a host of other colleges), three days ago. Only UPenn & Princeton sent me a mail with confirmation that they have received my application. However, Cornell & the others havent! Is this normal or due to christmas/winter holidays or should I call them/send them an email for clarification? Please Help! I certainly wouldn't want some silly last minute error to screw up my application.

And ohh, my Commonapp account says that all the colleges have downloaded my app/recs/schoolforms/supplements/etc. So is everything all right ^??

I know ^ this might sound dumb, but thanks in advance for answering!!

I got an email from The Common App confirming my application submission to Cornell. I received an email from Cornell two days later, giving me a username and password.

So long as everything shows green on your common-app account, it has been submitted just chillax. Not everyone gets a pin and username two days after and if you still don’t get it in say two weeks, go to the website and you will see an option somewhat like “Haven’t received pin and username yet” and click on that. But you have to give them some time, a lot of people are applying as well so there might be some slow thingys

^ I thought so too, but then today I received mails from all the other colleges and only Cornell’s left!! I guess I’ll wait for another week, before sending a mail.

@ battlebrick congrats!! Hopefully I get to join you!! :)

And I’m even more worried now cause Princeton already sent me an interview information email!! And Cornell still hasn’t acknowledged my submission!!

If you go to Cornell’s undergrad admissions website it says that their office is closed until the 2nd and that they will not be downloading any apps or sending out any confirmation emails until then, so I don’t think you even have to call them. Perhaps wait a week into January and call if you haven’t received any sort of confirmation by then?

it does take them a while to process, due to the volume of applications they get. I assume you are applying as a freshman, since the transfer deadline is ages away. But when I applied as a freshman, they sent me the confirmation and Cornell account information around Jan 5th, and the interview was on Jan 11th.

And since it says they downloaded your files from CommonApp, you should be good you should still call them in early January if they don’t send email confirmation, though, just to soothe your soul :P
