Cornell as an International Student

Hello,

I am from Germany and I am thinking about applying at Cornell for the 2013 intake. I already have a TOEFL with a sufficient score, but do I need to take a SAT or anything like that?

Axel

Yes all students need to take the SAT.
Also depending on the school which you will be applying to you may need to take subject tests also.

axelgold: applying to a program like Cornell is rather involved. Given what you’ve written, I would say you will not be able to assemble the requirements before the deadline. Maybe reconsider applying…

Actually I would agree with T26E4. I am also applying to cornell. I planned a while ago and am still scrambling to complete the application before the deadline. If you really want to apply to cornell you will have to do a lot of research and work before the deadline.

If you haven’t taken the SAT or Subject Tests I don’t know how you want to apply to most schools with the exception of schools like MIT which would allow your TOEFL. Most of the schools “might” allow January SAT but the next exam for int’l students is in May and you won’t be able to take the subject tests before even the decisions. Anyways it largely depends on the college you are applying to in Cornell. Some don’t require subject tests. You can also try the ACT. I think you can get the rest of the requirements before the deadline but yes its difficult if you just thought about applying to Cornell in a whim.

Hi, I’m an international student from India, we don’t have the GPA system but my grades are among the top 5% in my highschool.
I scored 1950 in SAT I
And 800, 760 on the subject tests in Math II and Physics.
I scored 111 on the TOEFL iBT.
I play for my state team in 2 sports, 200 hours of Community service and good academics extra curriculars. My essay for Cornell is great, could you please chance me ?
