Cornell based on GPA/SAT

I know there’s much more that goes into
application review but I was just wondering if it’s even possible to get in based solely on these… SAT:1940 CR:640 W:620 M:680 GPA: 4.3

I suppose if you’re math score was around 770+ it would’ve been possible. Also if you had a couple of good sat subject tests. Take the SAT again or the subjects in math lvl 2 and something else. Score 780+ and I think they’ll look past your average CR&W score.

Legacy?

I am afraid that it would require more than legacy to overcome those SAT scores. I have pasted below stats from the enrolled class of 2018. Accepted students’ stats would be a bit higher (or, probably smaller percentages below 650).

SAT Math: Enrolling Students Score
650 and Above 85.6%
Below 650 14.4%

SAT Critical Reading: Enrolling Students Score
650 and Above 76.8%
Below 650
23.2%

Cornell’s median SAT is over 2100, so unhooked applicants would need a higher SAT to have a reasonable chance.

@goldenbear2020 I thought Cornell didn’t use the writing portion though

That’s right, so their median CR+M SAT is in the low 1400s, so unhooked applicants should score at least mid to high 1400s.
