Hi everyone,
I am a senior at a private HS in Turkey and a US citizen. I am in the top 3 in terms of GPA in my graduating class and will be applying to Cornell's College of Ag. & Life Sciences for Biological Engineering. I would also like to continue on to medical school. On another note, I will be trying out for the lacrosse program, and have a good shot at making the team according to my coaches.

My SAT Scores are as follows:
680 CR
710 WR
750 Math

SAT II's
800 Biology-M
710 Chem
710 Math level 2

My extracurriculars include:
Turkish National Lacrosse Team Captain
Summer work at a center for children with learning disabilities
Summer work at a teaching hospital
Several student forum/debate conferences
Organizing Turkey's first ever environmental student conference (also vice president)
Honor and discipline committee vice president at HS
Award winning essay for NASA
8 years of basketball including 4 at one of the most competitive programs in Europe
5 years of guitar

Academically;
I am a national merit commended student
Have received the annual science award in the tenth and eleventh grades,
am on high honor roll every year
have a full merit scholarship for four years of high school for academic performance
5.0 GPA (out of a max 5.0) all four years

keep in mind that the turkish educational system requires science students to take around 12 different courses a year and that the curriculum is not selected by the student. math and science courses are at the AP level regardless of choice. extracurricular activities are extremely limited because of the way they are offered at my HS and istanbul commute times are extremely difficult for everyone (i come home at 5:30 without staying after hours for activities)

My essay is about what moving to Turkey and dealing with my mother's cancer has taught me.

If anyone can help, I'd like to know my chances.
