Is anyone else infuriated by the "pre-req" of Biology for Applied Economics and management? Does anyone know if you can apply to the program(and have a shot) without taking biology for 2 semesters (or even 1 for that matter?)

i took biology for 5 semesters in HS so i didnt worry about it, but your HS doesn’t require you to take a life sciences class??

got a 5 on the ap test yayyaaaa

^Two clearly very helpful responses.

Well bio is considered to be a “basic requirement” for admission (most likely bc AEM is in CALS), so not having it is going to be very bad. Is it not possible for you to take bio as a senior when you apply to Cornell? If you took AP bio as a senior then i’m sure that would satisfy the req.

If you have some sort of special situation however I would just contact admissions directly to explain the situation.

wait what do you mean that there is a prereq of biology? does it have to be AP bio or can it be honors bio?

^He is probably a transfer which will require bio 1 and 2 to apply for AEM.
