Cornell CALS/Tufts Transfer (Please leave any feeback, thank you!)

Sorry, this might be a long entry since I never posted before:

I've been reading this forum since senior year, and honestly, I get quite depressed reading about the competition and my self-esteem reaches an all time low. But in any case, I am going to apply for a transfer for Cornell and Tufts during the end of my sophomore year for a 2006 Fall or 2007 Spring transfer. I was wondering if anyone who's gotten in under similar circumstances can give me some tips or feedback on what's necessary for such prestigious schools.

I play to apply for the following transfers: Cornell (CALS), Tufts, Brandeis, and Boston College

High School: Boston Latin School
College: University of Massachusetts, Amherst (Commonwealth Honors)
I( rejected the TAP program for the COMM major upon matriculation since I would have to live in a rowdy high rise with pot smokers and drinkers.. I like my liberal arts residence setting very much)

I am a second semester freshman studying Communication (B/A), and pursuing a minor in IT and Political Science.

College Cumulative GPA: By the end of this semester (2/8), it should be a 3.5-3.55. I really messed up first semester, but for the next two (or last two, approaching to a transfer's Junior year deadline), I hope to raise it to a 3.7-3.8 cumulative average.

Course load: My AP's and placement out of the writing and math requirement gave me a little leeway to choose only 12 credits first semester. This semester, it's 15; the next two should be 18-21 with honors classes. I also am trying to find financial aid to take summer classes here. (Cornell's summer extension programs are just too expensive for me.)

Next semester will be my first with level 200 and 300 classes (so, already I am far behind).

Fall 2006 classes: COMM 287 (Advertising), COMM 331 (Process Television), Classics 224 (Greek Literature), French 200 Level (Intensive 6 Credits), an Honors Course (Literature), Psychology 100 (Required for Cornell CALS, COMM), and Dean's Book 191D (this honors thing).

Some Extracurriculars: (Anything under 2005 is high school. I play to start 3 student organizations next semester--one teaching Photoshop, one YourMass.org, and an Entrepreneurial Website Development club/class)

Secretary and Treasurer of National Residence Hall Honorary (2005-2006)
Community Leader of Central Area Residence (2005)
United Asia Learning Resource Center (2005)

Student President of Photoshop Art & Design (2004)
Student President of Website Art & Design (2003)
Assistant Editor in Chief, The Tempest Senior Newspaper (2004)
Webmaster, Public Relations Assistant, Senior Advisor of Asian Students in Action (2002-2004)
Vice President, Video Game Society (2003)

Jobs: I currently work at the IT Office as a classrooms consultant (it's a lowly job), but have worked IT at State Street Corporation, and am awaiting the Disney College Internship program, and a summer internship application to AFLAC.

My r

Somehow, I can't edit my post anymore, but I have some errors: I didn't notice feedback was missing the "d," and I meant my classes for Fall 2005!

Again, thanks in advance for your suggestions!

is the aflac internship sales and marketing?
