CORNELL- Can I pull it off? Will chance back

Im a senior that recently moved and am thus having a hard time figuring out my stats at my new school, but the following is a list of where i stood at my old school and the two should be fairly similar:
I have a high school GPA of 4.2 weighted, 3.92 unweighted
My class rank is 14 out of 345
ACT composite=32
SAT superscored composite=2190
CR=740
W=740
M=710
SAT highest in one sitting=2100
SAT Math1=690
SAT Literature=700
SAT US History=700

I was commended as a national merit scholar for the PSAT and am a National Hispanic Scholar.

During my junior year i could take 3 APs and i only took two. I got a 3 on the US History and a 5 on the English Language. This year I'm taking 3 APs and Spanish IV. This year I'm taking 3 APs.

I volunteered 135 hours for a local Congressman and was then hired by him as a field representative.

My officer positions include: Olympus club class representative 10th grade, Olympus club treasurer 11th grade, FBLA vice president 11th grade, after moving i started a new chapter and was FBLA president and founder in 12th grade, DECA vice president 11th grade.

The activities i was involved with include: AcDec, quiz bowl, FBLA, DECA, NHS, History Day, Model UN, Olympus, Stock Market Game, National Finance Challenge (3rd in state for 2 years), and National Economics Challenge (3rd in state for 2 years, 1st in state 1 year which put me at 35th in the nation), and young Republicans.

Can you please rate my chances at Cornell on a scale of 1-10 and explain why you put the number/range you did. Thanks

About an 8:-) Good recs and essay…9. Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/816473-chance-aa-female-elite-schools-updated-stats.html Also chance me for Yale along with the other colleges I have listed!

Id say a 7. Your scores arent the best but you have great grades. Your ECs also lack continuity but I still think you have a great shot.

chance back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/804723-chances-ed-dartmouth.html

I would say that you are in. It does depend on what program you are applying to at Cornell though. Engineering is intense and the business program is tough.

vlau- I’m wanting to major in something business related

anybody else have anything to say? I swear Ill chance back

Good chances. Id say youve got a 70% chance of getting in 80% with good essays.

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/818331-please-chance-me-rice-ed-i-promise-ill-will-chance-you-back-asap.html

I would give you a 6 or a 7 since your scores are in the mid range for the school but I think you have a pretty good chance since I knew someone with lower stats then you that got in.

9 - Your grades and SATs are good enough and thats what matters.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about. You’re in. I know a white female who had lower stats than you and got into Cornell. You’re going to be just fine :)

Chance me back??
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/802006-what-my-chances-getting-into-unc.html

Your a solid applicant… and I’m assuming that you are hispanic. If so, I will be extremely surprised if you do not get in. I’d probably peg your chances at like 90%, ha. If you aren’t hispanic, I still think you have a really pretty good shot-- probably close to 50%.

Good luck! :)

I would say your chances are 6-8 depending on some factors. Your grades are great and the sat scores are great but the ec’s dont surprise me very much.I do like the congressman thing it’s different.Not to many signs of serious leadership,it seems like some of your ec’s were done to fill in blanks.I think you can pull it off if u write great essays.I think u will get in,good luck!

The congressman thing is very good. I recommend getting a recommendation from him. SATs are maybe just passable for Cornell. I think combined ECs, awards, etc. give you a chance of 7/10. (class rank brings you down a little)

if you chanced me I’d greatly appreciate it :slight_smile:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/818137-chance-me-emory-columbia-yale-etc-will-chance-back.html

I’d have to give you a 8-9, 9if you have great essays/rec
I know someone that has similar stats as yours and got accepted to Cornell, so its a high match! good luck!

chance back please :)!
thanks!
