I was just wondering what things can be classified as intellectual interests? I already wrote my essay, but I'm confused as to whether or not it really answers the question. Basically, I just talked about how I wanted to major in government because of the current state of the government in my own country. Does being interested in the improvement of government count as an intellectual interest?

Thanks for your replies!

Well, the essay is about how I want to change the government because I wanna help the people in my country. Basically, it shows the progression of how I learned that the only way to help the people in a drastic way is through the government, and how I can change the current corrupt government through my studies, specifically in Cornell.

Hope that makes sense to you. I really need to know if that counts as an “intellectual interest.” Thanks!
