I'm also applying to Duke, Carnegie Mellon, and Rice.
I went to a regular public high school for 9th and 10th. Number 1 in the class, all As. Took AP Calc AB (5) and APES (4). I had 4.75 GPA.
I jut finished junior year at a public boarding school specialized in math and science. I got 1 B+ in Calculus BC but then got an A in multivariable (improvement?). I have all As other than that, 5.35 GPA but it'll go up next year. Advanced coursework in Multivariable calc, combinatorics, graph theory, number theory, mathematical modeling, complex systems, molecular and cellular biology, either Physics C or an astrophysics sequence next year, biomedical instrumentation, AP chem, AP microecon...
- I'm doing a mentorship at Duke for most of the next school year in biomedical/chemical engineering. I might also work in the lab a few weeks this summer.
- This summer, I'm doing an astronomy program through UNC. It's a group of undergraduates and I and we're basically doing an astronomy crash course in WV using a radio telescope there.
- I'm going to be a Student Ambassador next year (huge commitment) as well as a physics teacher's assistant
- SATs aren't strong... 2010 with 760 math, 620 CR. Hoping grades and coursework will make up for that?
