I read that Cornell CAS requires two subject test of your choice, so would Math 1 and Math 2 count? I know it looks bad to submit both Maths but I can't retake the subject tests because of the deadline for early decision. I am interested in becoming an Actuary and I am very interested in Math and Statistics. My senior year course load is very rigorous and no one else at my school will be taking as much classes as I will be taking.

You can take another SAT II in Sept or October in time for your ED application. I believe the October tests are the last dates recommended. 2 math SATs seems redundant, but you can call admissions and ask. Good luck.

Honestly, your chances are pretty low. While everything is pretty good, your SATs are extremely weak. While your SAT IIs are fine, you really need to get your critical reading score up. Furthermore, your ethnicity will bring you down even further (thanks to the wonderful system of affirmative action). If Cornell is your top school, consider applying early decision and to an easier school to get into. Though CAS may be your dream school, you can easily apply to a college that’s easier to get into (like IRL) and change colleges once your in (it is extremely easy to change your college).

@newyork21‌ I totally agree about the SAT score. You should be aiming for 2200+. SATs aren’t the end all be all, but they do matter. As for the easier school part…I hate to say this but I disagree. I am an ambassador and am involved in clubs that work with admissions and recruitment and trust me we can tell when someone is trying to “back door” their way in. If you aren’t interested in ILR or your activities don’t fit the college I promise you you WILL NOT get in. It’s all about fit. The college you’ll have the best chance of getting into is the one which fits you best–ignore the acceptance rates and apply to what you love–cornell seeks passionate applicants. OP make sure your application shows your passion and love for the subject–and BIG RED–it’s the best way to get in
