Firstly, Cornell offers only ED.
Which college at Cornell are you planning to apply to?

Your SAT-1 scores are along lines of the average Cornell acceptee.

However, I would advise you to retake SAT-IIs since u have the time. I'm not saying ur scores are bad; Just that many many applicants will have scores above that.

Though your ECs are not too many in number, they're pretty eclectic. However if ur applying for a science related major, a few Science related activities is advised.

And are you going to get references from your Coach and plan to be involved in Sports at Cornell? If so, your chances are significantly improved.

I'm certainly not an expert on Cornell or SAT scores but do you really think that if this applicant retook the SAT 11s and the scores went from 760 to let's say 780, it really is going to matter? Isn't there a kind of threshold for these scores at competitive schools (or all schools for that matter) and once you hit 740, 750 + it's all treated pretty much the same?

I think that unless you are going for something like engineering or another specialized school, you're fine once you hit mid-700s.

Everything looks great except the EC's.

is there something lacking in the EC's?
im retaking the SAT I in october because i can definately do better in writing. and im going to apply to the college of arts and sciences - i plan on majoring in economics.

anyone else?

I'm a hurdler too!!! Which events did you do and wat were ur times? I love hurdles!

I think people are commenting about ur EC's because first of all they aren't GREAT compared to other applicants (but not bad) and second of all u have no leadership.

this is a random aside- will a 50 second flat for the 400 open qualify you for anykind of sweet recruitment?

yea i think you may be kinda ****ed unless you make yourself look like some kind of god within the orchestra

You really need more ECs, go volunteer on the weekends:) Beside that your stats are stellar.

Chillax88- a 50 probably won't get you very far in Div I Track, however, anything 48 and under will.
