HELLO!! I was trying so hard not to get on cc because I would start getting really nervous, but I finally caved!! I’m so anxious and excited now! just a couple more weeks to go!

@College 112
i’m an asian female and i applied to bioengineering.
34 ACT; 4.0 unweighted, 5.04 weighted, 1/440.
5’s on AP Stats, AP Bio, AP Chem, APUSH, AB Calc, APES

i got waitlisted for Washington University in St. Louis, so i’m really hoping that doesn’t happen for Cornell…it sounds weird but i’d rather just get rejected

i would not worry too much about washu sl, they are notoriously unpredictable in admissions, some say they are highly income sensitive… those are great stats>>
also some say visits, interest, extra supplemental conact at wash u is helpful btw…

Did anyone get a diversity hosting email yet??

College112,

Female too, chemical engineering

ACT 34, GPA 4.12 weighted (school does not report unweighted/rank), SAT Chem 800, SAT Math II 800
AP chem, English language, microeconomics = 5’s
4 on macroecon
awards: national merit/national chemistry olympiad finalist (honors)/AP scholar and various other unimportant awards

I was rejected from Stanford EA, Cornell is my second choice! Already got into Michigan so I’m hoping I get in to one of the other three schools I applied to since I dont want to stay in state.

@thechor

Only ACCEPTED female engineers and URM’s are notified earlier than the normal date; however, it doesn’t mean you’re rejected if you don’t get in early and you’re a URM/female engineer. They do these earlier admittance notifications to entice people to choose to go to Cornell because they got really excited over ther early acceptance lol. Cornell also has a special week for admitted female engineers.

But do they send likely letters to most female engineers or just the ones they deem highly qualified? Does anyone know what percentage of accepted female engineers they give likely letters to?

Does getting 28k in scholarship money at Case Western Reserve mean I may have a shot at Cornell? I know they’re not relayed, I’m just trying to guess how my application may have come off.

*related, not relayed

It could, but not necessarily. I got a likely from Duke, early-write from Vandy and acceptance from Wustl, but I still know my chances at AEM are slim. It’s about fit.

has anyone received a likely letter from Cornell this year?

i know this is really late but is anyone else having issues with their financial aid to do list? i faxed something in a week ago that they said was missing and it still says that that item is incomplete. i’m starting to freak out a little because there’s no way i can afford the school without aid (if i were to get in)

Please don’t worry! It takes a few weeks for it to be updated. You can always e-mail FA and ask if they have received your fax to put you mind at ease.

thanks so much for the reassurance! FA is like applying to college all over again! so stressful!

So is the notification is coming out on the Cornell application status portal? https://selfservice.admissions.cornell.edu/
or another different place? e-mail? snail-mail?

Cornell will send you a link and a password a few days before notification.

So…i am wondering what this means on my To Do List (i applied to human ecology):

Verif: Child Support Statement 05/06/2013 Cornell University Financial Aid
Verif: Household Certification 05/06/2013 Cornell University Financial Aid
Verif: IRS Parent Data 05/06/2013 Cornell University Financial Aid
Verif: IRS Student Data 05/06/2013 Cornell University Financial Aid
Verif: SNAP 05/06/2013 Cornell University Financial Aid

Does this mean I am accepted? why do i need to turn in documents in may when results would be coming out in march?

those documents are required so that financial aid is ready if you get accepted, everyone has to do it if they want fa

so is that on your TO DO list as well?

It’s on mine too, and I am not the strongest applicant…lol. Don’t do anything until after March 28th, on the off chance that you’re making too much work for yourself.

Edit: Mine is actually due the 7th. Different time zones, perhaps?

Mine says no to do list…
