Cornell Class of 2017 RD Discussion

Anyone else super nervous and excited?!

Here is super nervous applicant who could not stop worrying. I know it is immature to worry about things that I cannot determine, but I just cannot help it !!!

Random question- In what order are you guys checking your ivy decisions? :P

@firefliesdance hey I’ve been thinking of the same thing!! Guess I’ll go from “virtually impossible” to “i may have a shot?” :stuck_out_tongue: actually applicants on the Penn forum have discussed that. Many people gave their reasons as well. Quite interesting to read. :)

I keep changing my mind about what order to check. I’m 99% sure I will be rejected by all 3 I applied to, but I guess I will look at them in order from least good essays to best essays. So Columbia, Cornell, Penn. And then I will finally be able to move on with rejections.

Impossible to… improbable for me :p

Can’t wait anymore!!! :/

I think I’ll check Cornell first, and then Yale. I’ve got two reasons for that :
I wrote my Yale app in a hurry the day it was due (short and silly answer to “Why Yale”, stupid answers to the short questions, copy&pasted the essay from another uni I applied to),
and, the second reason is that on MIT’s decision day (3/14), I had a dream of being accepted to Cornell and another college and rejected from MIT (which was my top choice), and to date this dream is true so I’ve still got hope.

@hennebou wow interesting dream! perhaps I should say congrats in advance? :stuck_out_tongue:

I also did the essays for 2 schools in a hurry - didn’t really feel like applying to those two. my parents insisted so I just applied to make them feel better. so high five! :p

ahhhh the wait is killing me right now.

Cornell is my only Ivy and my dream school. Along with the last school I have to hear back from!! to impatient to wait until thursday. The outcome actually decides where im going. eeeek!

Im not to confident that I’ll get in; I actually have a gut feeling its bad news but i’m happy with my second choice school, its just not Cornell :(

@hopeful0525 I guess many (most?) people feel unconfident when it comes to Ivies… so don’t worry too much coz the result may actually be wonderful
btw I totally agree that tooo impatient to wait until thursday ohhhhhhhhhhh

@cathybright : No not congrats in advance ! That’s not a thing to do lol.
My current top choice is Stanford, so I’ll know my fate in two days… But I’m currently not so OK why my second choice school, and I’d still be very happy at Cornell.

I think I’m really kinda mad now… just can’t stop thinking of being rejected by all the good schools to which I applied :frowning: (despite my seemingly optimistic attitude shown in the reply above. sigh)… ahhh I need to chill. really. guys how do you calm yoruself at this point of time?

@hennebou ok lol  so all the best!! Your dream will come true! (whoa this rather trite sentence fits your situation really well coz you did have a dream :p)

Cornell is the only Ivy and my dream school that I applied to.

@lilmelonred me 2

To answer the question about the order I’m checking my decisions, I’m going from most unlikely to most likely (although my “most likely” aren’t that likely either :3)

I have been flying high for months now. I applied to 10 schools and one by one the acceptances rolled in. Now, granted some were safety schools, but some were not. Finally this week I received my first rejection (Carnegie Mellon). I didn’t expect to be upset by this but it was a huge reality check. Now I have only two more to go, including Cornell. Cornell was the only Ivy I applied to and the only one I would even consider attending. Good Luck to everyone where ever you land. Is everyone else as happy as I am that the application/waiting process is coming to an end? Decision Time!!!

Cornell is also my first choice and only ivy. Luckily UC Berkeley comes out the same day, so there’s a chance I won’t be completely devastated. No matter the decision, I know I’ll be crying tomorrow. :)

I’m in India for fmily vacation and there is 8 1/2 time diffrence!! Debating whether or not i will wait until 1:30 am or not!! Also can’t decide if it’s a good idea to chck while on vacation…
