Good luck everyone.

@collegeconscious - I meant Cornell Engg vs Other Ivy Engg
Sorry for sounding so blunt.

Maxyend, I disagree with you. I think CR is more difficult and W is easier. In two tries, I never crossed 690 on CR although my W score was 800. And I’m a math guy through and through. Most of my friends (international) had similar experiences with CR.

Again, this is just my opinion and other views are welcome!

@cyanproxy - Really, I have many reasons on why I want to attend Cornell. And its brilliant engineering department is one of the obvious reasons.

Though to be honest, I don’t feel the same enthusiasm for Cornell, as I do for Northwestern or Princeton(my top 2 favorites).

It’s not that I’m looking at Cornell for an easier acceptance. (I’m probably going to be rejected.) I’d still choose Cornell over UPenn and Columbia. If miraculously I was to be accepted to all three.

Guys does waitlist = reject pretty much?

@Maxyend
Actually, I’m also a math person but found CR extremely annoying, scoring a 670 on my best attempt, compared with 790 Writing/11E and 740 Math. I guess everyone is different, but I was actually very shocked to learn that Engineering kids are better at reading (and writing!) than the Arts kids at Universities that administer admissions to different schools by different applications (Cornell, Duke, UVA). Matter of fact, I was dissuaded from applying to Duke Engineering because my Reading and Math weren’t even in their IQR!

@rishav17
Thanks for clarifying haha

Doesn’t Cornell ignore writing scores, btw? Or is that just a myth?

I’m pins and needles all over, so so excited for Cornell, can’t tell. Everybody, Best of Luck!!!
CORNELL - 1st choice always…
3 hrs 48 mins left!!!
:/

I’m pretty sure Cornell considers writing.

@Asfairasmorn are you an athlete? I’d like to know your situation because I have a 2020 but an interesting situation. I’d love to go to Cornell!

Just googled it.

That last part seems to indicate no writing considered, or no essay considered. I hope it’s the latter. I had just one or two mistakes on the writing multiple choice, but only 700 overall for writing. 760 for the other two.

Just a search on this forum seems to indicate they don’t look at writing scores as well. Plus they only publish their CR+M scores.

Asfairasmorn is a ■■■■■ who has posted different nonsense in every ivy thread.

Lol okay thanks man. Good luck to you all later today!

So for all you math guys… how do you interpret “Mid-50% SAT Math range 740-800”? That the 25% above the Mid-50% all got 800s?

Yes, and probably some in the middle 50 percentile too.

Guys should I check while I’m in India?? If I don’t get in I don’t want it to ruin my vacation, but on the other hand if I don’t check then I will still be stuck being super anxious for the rest of the trip.

Lol tough call. Just check and get rid of your anxiety. One rejection will not ruin your life or your vacation. Have fun!

I’m a URM who applied to CALS, and I didn’t get a Diversity Weekend email. Does this mean I was rejected??

One way to find out in a few hours.

@lilmelonred Good point, but I’d really rather know now. The devastation won’t hurt as much.
