Cornell I reject your rejection letter. See ya in the fall
Is this rejection thing a recomendation orrrr
@CCSenioritis if only we could do that lol
I’m just going to show up in August
@JustaEngineer Great plan. When I’m waiting for the Cornell Decision, I kept watching a YouTube video where a girl’s parents filmed the whole process of her finding out that she got accepted to Cornell. It gives me a sense of hope of getting into Cornell and prevented me from getting depressed. I look forward to your Cornell reaction video.
I’m not a boy…
@WilltheBastard If I do get it in, I will let you know. May the best of luck be with you, and if you missed my earlier reply, if you believe that you truly belong at Cornell, then you most likely will end up there. That gut feeling is everything. Good luck Will.
Parent of an ED accepted applicant last year. Good luck all! A few things:
NetIDs will be issued if you get accepted and will be sent in an email. Housing stuff does not open up until the spring, so it actually means nothing AT ALL if you can get to the portal. Seriously, it means nothing. If you get it in, and after you submit your deposit, you will pretty much not hear back from Cornell until April. Maybe a few things here and there, but hardly anything. There will be a chance to join CU on the Hill, a social group for admitted students and they will have some webinars that you can attend with current students. You will get a “to do” list in the spring that has housing info, medical stuff, ID picture, swim test info, etc etc.
If you get in, they will send you a Class of 2020 T shirt and your parents will get a sticker for their car (which I proudly display).
Also, since there are not many hotels in Ithaca and they book up FAST for move in weekend, ED applicants have an advantage of booking at the Statler Hotel early. It’s pretty expensive, but it’s a great place for your parents to stay on move in weekend. It’s right on campus. Do not wait until the last minute to book move in weekend reservations anywhere. If you wait too long you will have to stay possibly 20+ miles away.
@TiggyB62 Wait why do we need to book a hotel?
@WilltheBastard could you possibly link that YouTube video?
@TiggyB62 that was very insightful thank you so much. Is your son/daughter a freshman or was this more than a year ago, idk why I’m asking I’m just so excited to meet everyone if I get accepted.
Either way I’m coming to Ithaca in August and pretend I’m a student there, regardless of the decision. My motto for the next 28 hours if I get rejected is Deny, Deny, Deny.

omg my classmates are talking about cornell and im quietly listening to them like )-::::::
Skipped to the reaction. Now I’m watching this https://youtu.be/QuLaQoQP9oo
@larrythelobster That was me today lol
lolol i get so excited when people talk about cornell and i want to join in, but all i can think about is getting rejected [-(
I enjoyed that video a lot, but the sad thing is that that professor passed away several months ago.
@CCSenioritis A hotel for your parents to stay in on move-in weekend. Rooms get booked up very quickly in Ithaca (Cornell and Ithaca College converging all at the same time.) Unless of course you live within driving distance so your parents can drop you off and leave the same day. We live 12 hours away, so we came in the night before move-in day and needed a place to stay. Also, there is parent orientation stuff the next day, so we stayed for that, too.
@SaifoSehamy yes, my daughter is a freshmen this year. I recall her going through exactly what you are all going through this time last year. I know the pressure is intense, but try to stay calm. Tomorrow will arrive soon enough. She’s in finals right now and like most students there, is under some stress at the moment! Finals count for more of your grade than in high school. She is a Cornell Ambassador so you may possibly “meet” her on an admitted student webinar this winter.
I don’t think I’m emotionally ready to get accepted/ deferred/ rejected in 25 hours
Rejection here I come
This is a no negativity zone !!! lol you’ll be fine @dorothylewes
