Cornell Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion

I have never identified to a song as much as I do right now to ‘‘Please Mr. Postman’’.

‘‘Mister postman look and see
Is there a letter in your bag for me
I been waiting a long long time.
I been standing here waiting Mister postman
So patiently
For just a card or just a letter’’.

Ikr tons of kids are skipping in my school tomorrow for ED results

Long time lurker here applying to CAS Economics from NJ.

Just realized that I forgot to mention something on my application that would have probably helped my application a pretty significant amount… Oh well.

Good luck to everyone here, you guys are all awesome :stuck_out_tongue:

The alumni who interviewed me several days ago told me that he wrote me a glowing review to Cornell University and wish me best of the luck. Does any one have idea about what does “glowing review” refer to , and does it help in terms of admissions?

@Curlynizzle Why not? It’s actually calming me down haha

@dehca2016 Dude, I know it’s easier said than done, but chill. You’ll end up fine. I promise.

If it makes you feel better, I’m pretty much you. (Except I still play tennis)

@jf2580 The “glowing review” would be the report the alumni sends back to Cornell. It does help, but only marginally. When I went to the information session they told us the alumni interview is more for us than for them.

I’m going to shave my head if I get into Cornell. Hold me accountable CC.

I had a dream last night that I didn’t get in… dreams are supposed to be opposite right? RIGHT??? When I took my first SAT I had a dream that the format was all whack and that I stole the test… I’m going to assume for my sanity that dreams are opposite to reality

Yes, that’s what I heard too. So basically means everyone who attends the information session will get a “glowing review”? @niceplanet

Well to pass time before tomorrow lets all say what major and college we’re applying to within Cornell and an interesting fact about ourselves :slight_smile:

@IceIceCornell You are going to get in now because you said that! haha

<18 hours. Good luck everyone! :slight_smile: :((

@streamfeather YESS! I’LL BE PRAYING FOR THE BOTH OF US :wink: :(( HOPEFULLY BOTH OF US GET IN AND WE CAN SHARE CLASSES TOGETHER.

@dorothylewes | ILR | I’m 16 and I never learned how to read |

I’m totally getting rejected tomorrow and I feel sick to my stomach.

@princess23101
Maybe your dreams represent the worries of life :stuck_out_tongue:
Don’t worry… If you get in, congratulations. If you don’t, well, maybe Cornell isn’t the right fit for you. Have faith in the admission officer’s decisions… They have much more experience than we do and I’m sure you’ll be happy wherever you go.

@jf2580 Well not necessarily. They said that if you were late or something and the alumni mentioned it in their report it wouldn’t look too hot. But, yeah generally you’d get a good review but if the alumni reallly liked you they might gush about you a bit more than normal.

@kuftw99 I’m skipping Friday if I get accepted haha but I need something tomorrow to pass the time WHY CAN’T THEY JUST RELEASE THE RESULTS ALREADY. I don’t understand college.

Come tomorrow I’ll probably be feeling like Meek Mill, taking L’s left and right.

So I’m reading a lot of ‘‘I’m skipping class if I get accepted’’. So, what do you plan to do? I mean, the least thing I would do if i got accepted is skip class. If you get rejected it’s reasonable to stay put.
