Yes, I turned in all the info earlier (or so I thought, a few weeks ago the to do list said I wasn’t missing anything) now it says I’m missing a form
does the missing form just say “financial aid year 2017”?? i turned in all my stuff on oct 30 @okie97
Nope, it wanted a “Prior Year Parent W2”
Hey, folks!
I took my liberty to calculate the average SAT and GPA of the ACCEPTED (so neither rejected nor deferred) Early Decision students from 2019 ED discussion thread.
Statistics:
Sample size: 40
*Extremely Skewed data and outliers were removed appropriately.
SAT: 1450/1600
SD: 85.8
UW GPA: 3.85/4.00
SD: 0.18
*There were some (but very few) students who got rejected, despite high scores.
*According to CollegeBoard, 1338 out of 4782 ED applicants got accepted. Therefore, with some laws of statistics, the statistics I calculated are moderately strong; the sample size of 40 is a pretty good representstive sample of the entire population of 1338 of the ACCEPTED ED students.
*In other words, you may trust my data.
*Will do more statistics on different universites at different threads!
I think it’s important to note that 1. People on this forum are not always accurate representations of typical applicants and 2. People may skew the numbers they post to feel better about their own chances. Decisions come out in less than 2 weeks, and there really isn’t anything you can do at this point, so just relax.
@PhunguSAE True, I mean, the fact that you’re signing up for a website that is college/school themed means that you’re probably pretty serious about college/school. Thus, the individuals who end up on these boards are probably slightly stronger candidates than the actual applicants.
Besides me, lol, pretty much everyone on CC in the Ivy/top tier schools’ threads are the top tier candidates applying to these schools. You guys are the best of the best so I honestly think the data from results threads from CC is NOT good data. Data is more unreliable when participants can choose whether or not to participate. Most people will only post if they feel comfortable (aka really high data/scores). Also there is no way to prove if people are lying or not about any of their stats/scores. As terrible as it is, we just have to wait.
@NICE8x Haha, same. Also, I agree 100% with all of your sentiments about CC. I mean, I just saw a Stanford chance thread in which someone said that a 2300 SAT score was just average or something along those lines. CC can be ridiculous sometimes. I think sites like Naviance give better data, unless you go to a small school like me and the older data points aren’t really that reliable considering how much admissions has changed. (Also, even Naviance doesn’t tell you a thing about the ECs/strength of essays/recommendation quality/course rigor of past applicants anyways)
Let’s make magic happen guys. 10 days left!

@mminjjae 1600/1600 would not be an outlier for Cornell ED. Did you remove high scores as well as very low ones?
If you want to use admissions data to see if you’re in the ballpark that’s fine. Really low stats without hooks could get you disqualified but high stats guarantee literally nothing at ivies, so we’ll just have to wait it out!
How much of a difference is there between getting into Cornell and a higher tier Ivy?
Do you guys think Cornell admissions officers are finished reviewing our ED applications?
Yea i think they are done
Do you have to submit a non flier statement for 2014 even if you didn’t have a source of income?
I would just use this to see what the overall class got and compare yourself to it https://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/admissions.cornell.edu/files/Class%20Profile%202019%20.pdf
Even though it doesn’t have GPA it has test scores
Just found something ![]()
This is the link to fin aid notifications site, if you are logged in for checklist you are logged in for this too:
https://ess.adminapps.cornell.edu/finaid-appid
@FZM777 my says inquiry access denied… does this mean im not getting fa…
It says that for me too, dont worry. The actual notifications will come even after acceptances.
I guess it is only an indicator that they have our financial aid apps.
