Did anyone who got the TO a year ago (Class of 2020) hear back yet? That their acceptance has been officially confirmed?
@jacbellini Not yet, from looking at the threads from years past I’m predicting they’ll will start to come out for ILR next week and all other colleges the week after that.
Best of luck to all of you!! For those of you who don’t already know, there’s a TO thread set up for the class of 2021 (link below). If you’re willing, I’m sure some of us would benefit from your experiences (some of you have already reached out, thank you!). In particular, if any of you have experience/opinions on transferring from a UC that you’d like to share, 2 of us (so far) would really appreciate it. If you’d rather pm me that’s just as good! Again, hoping things go well for all of you.

Hi @aihcxx @vlindo - Since you guys have been through this process recently, let me ask a couple of questions which I am getting conflicting information on:
*) The TO application which we will get in late December - What exactly does it require? Essay? Letters of Recommendation? Job experience?
*) When is this application typically due by? I will be away for a few weeks at that time so I would like to prep beforehand in case I have to submit remotely.
I have been hearing that this is a shortened transfer application with no essay or LOR. Even the application fee is waived. However, elsewhere I also hear people talking about writing essays for it.
Can you please clarify for all of us newbies?
@cricketfan The application requires different things depending on what school you’re applying to. For HumEc, I had to write another essay just to update them on my academic interests as well as what I’m doing outside the classroom. Very simple, I just talked about my continued interest in my anticipated major plus some of the clubs I had joined at my current college, and then reiterated that Cornell is still my top choice and I am committed to attending if admitted. CALS wanted a list of courses for the spring semester, while SHA (now the College of Business) wanted an updated resume. No letters of recommendation are required, job experience would only be relevant if you sent your resume or mentioned it as part of a HumEc essay- I attached my resume even though I was not required to.
It was due by March 15th- I just checked my old emails, and it looks like it was sent to me on November 28th. ~4 months should be more than enough time to complete it so you shouldn’t have to worry about being away.
For ILR, the application was a shortened one with no essay section or letter of recomendation section. There was an information/demographic section, an AP/IB score section, and a small extracurricular section that asked if you have done anything significant in the past year (don’t worry if you leave it blank, it has no bearing on your TO offer).
I recieved the application in late December and all application materials were due by March 15 except the Midterm report, which could have been submitted a week or two later if need be.
i dont see why they wouldnt let gt’s know this week as long as they met the gpa requirement
I’m dying to get the decisions already @litlhoward2468
@vlindo i was deferred ed last year, feel like ive been waiting for cornell decisions for a year and a half lol
Hopefully we’ll find out soon. Good luck everyone!!
Has anyone heard back from or talked to Cornell about any insight when we might receive the final decisions?
@theACThatesme If my materials aren’t all checked off next week I’m calling them about that and I’ll probably slip in a question about when we’re hearing back. I’m going crazy waiting for this, my semester ends in 3 weeks and I’d really like to know before I leave campus if I’ll be coming back in the fall or not so I can sort out housing/class/financial aid cancellations in person rather than dealing with it all over the phone.
From looking at last year’s thread, the GTs started receiving their decisions on April 7th, three days after the end of Cornell’s spring break. This year, Cornell’s spring break is this week and ends on Monday. So if this trend holds, we may start hearing back on Thursday, April 13th.
Everything finally got checked off!!! So relieved!!
were there any GT rejection cases?
Also wondering if it’s possible to be rejected for TO. Additionally, how many people in each college (CALS, CHE, etc) are given TO, and how many matriculate? Thanks!
When will decisions be released? So anxious waiting I know it said mid April
