Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

@mihirt19 I did.

Any Indians who got an interview!?

I did. Applied for Mathematics.

Which city man?

I had previously read you lived in the US.?

Chicago

Dude I meant any Indian who is an international applicant?

oops. I am an Indian American :))

…now I’m concerned for applicants who said they’d show up to the group interview I was part of, if they do write reports.

@XoXdreamerXoX they do write reports

I sent a research supplement to Cornell several weeks ago but it still didn’t show up on my application portal. Is it supposed to show up? Should I email admissions to learn if they got it?

Did anyone who was deferred get a response when they sent a deferral letter to their regional rep? And did anyones counselor call cornell for them?

@senior12321 I just sent my letter through the supplemental materials website. Also, I didn’t have my counselor call because I already knew what my app’s weaknesses were.

@Transtra I would call just in case just to be sure. they confirmed a supplementary transcript via phone for me a couple weeks ago, because supplementary materials don’t show in the portal

I applied RD to ILR. I am all the way from California, but I visited Cornell this summer and fell in love with the school. Does anyone here know if visiting the campus and attending info meeting in my area will improve my chances? I am too lazy to post my stats right now lol

@thaliacat123 At this point, it likely doesn’t matter much; visiting campus is only worth it if you think you will benefit from it.
The information session, however, might be worth the trouble.

@aBitOfLuck I visited campus last summer and attended 2 info sessions, one in August and October. I am hoping that they track my interest but wasn’t sure if they do or not… :slight_smile:

@thaliacat123 I think you may have passed the point of diminishing marginal returns; attend if you wish, but, at this point, I think your fate (positive, hopefully) is largely sealed barring a felony or a severe drop in grades.

@thaliacat123 it wouldn’t improve your chances much, and ILR decisions should be mailed out next week so I’d imagine most of the decisions have already been made

@litlhoward2468 NEXT WEEK!!! I THOUGHT CORNELL CAME OUT END OF MARCH… I am definitely not mentally prepared for this
