Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

@Extra0dinary I applied to CAS. Hopefully we’ll see each other in Cornell come this fall! :wink:

@mprut0987 haha definitely - this is why I love CC!!! :wink: What major are you and do you plan to attend Cornell Day?

@Extra0dinary meeting you on the first day of school be like: “hi are you extraodinary? I’m mprut!” :wink:

I’m planning to major in Physics, what about you? I live quite far away from the states and it’s two weeks before my IB exams, so I’ll probably have to miss the Cornell Day :frowning:

Anyone from India here who received a likely letter!? Also anyone from Indian who was asked to submit tax statements of parents and other stuff to cornell after submitti the CSS profile?

@pk2608 were you asked to submit those statements? I am trying to figure out what they mean for international applicants.

I am a international student and i was asked to submit tax statement also. Since i wont have the taxes ready until april, They told me they were going to put a note on my file that i will submit them in april without penalty. Do they review financial aid for all internationals who applied or only accepted ones?

@nic2020 When were you asked to submit those documents?

No I wasn’t asked to subm any documents that’s th reason I’m worried.

Because it could likely mean a rejection!

@Sheroman2020II when did you receive such an email?

@pk2608 I wasnt asked to submit anything either;

If you have been accepted or are accepted later are you guys automatically choosing cornell? Or is it amongst other of your choices? I haven’t received all my admission notices yet, still need 2 more, but I didn’t think I’d be be accepted to cornell and other top institution so now I’m having a hard time choosing where to go. :-/

@montse166 I doubt I’ll get accepted. But if, by some fluke, I get in, I’ll most likely choose Cornell.

You have a chance, im barely in the 25th percentile of their average scores and I somehow did. The school seems so great, but it’s so far away from southern cali that it makes me hesitant to go? But I’m visiting all the school that accept me throughout the next 3 weeks and I’ll probably base my decision of off which school I get the best vibe from and who is giving me the most financial aid so I’ll pay the least because I can barely afford college probs.

Does anyone know how many students (in average) are freshmen in the CS program at Cornell? I tried to find this information, but without avail. I was also trying to find information about the class sizes for CS as well.

Hey guys just wanted to ask about The spring admission. Does anyone know how many applicants they will accept for each school for spring 2017 admission?

@redbluegreen19 depends for each school. for humec they take 20 students

@Sheroman2020II Have you been asked to submit any income tax documents, yet?

Guys… do you know any who got in with relatively low gpas??..my test scores and ECs are fine for Cornell standards but my gpa is relatively low… ( Im Indian)

@rik123 I had a 3.55, it’s possible.

@CCSenioritis Thanks for hope …pretty bummed after JHU rejection

I guess there are many people who got contacted by financial aid office to submit documents. Do you guys think this is correlated to an acceptance because from previous years’ threads, I saw many people who got an email/call from financial aid officers before decision date and got accepted? If I didn’t get a request to submit documents, does it mean I am rejected?
