My daughter got the same letter - everyone is thrilled.
My daughter received likely letter and invitation to Diversity Hosting. Her stats are: GPA:4.21 weighted; SAT:2040;
AP European History - 5; AP English - 5; SAT Biology - 670; SAT Spanish - 700. She is a varsity tennis player and co-president of the Spanish Club. Took heavy load of AP and Honors courses
do most international students receive LL before admissions? i am an international and i haven’t received one so I am kinda anxious …
@efebrkn No, a huge group of international applicants get in without a LL, and this is true for everybody. So until Ivy Day, everyone has a fair chance.
I have never been able to find an answer to this: I applied for engineering, but I did not take a science subject test. I took Math2(800) and history (670). Will they reject me automatically or will they see if they have a place for me in CAS? I don’t want to be rejected automatically
@markpasenter2 I dont know if they consider you for a school you didn’t apply to
@markpasenter2 Don’t disqualify yourself yet! And no, they got rid of the secondary college choice last year so they won’t consider you for another college if you’re rejected… but hopefully it won’t come to that!
@BureaCat finaid@cornell.edu (sorry for the late response, you probably already found the answer, lol)
Hey guys…my ACT is higher than my SAT but I submitted both… do you know if they will pay attention to my SAT too much if my ACT is more impressive…also how important is the writing section of the ACT for Cornell?..Thnks
@rik123 Your ACT should take precedence if it is better.
As for the ACT Writing, I’m fairly certan that it matters only if it is abysmal; otherwise, it is almost immaterial.
@aBitOfLuck Thanks for info
@bluepaint1 yea I got the email but thanks tho!!
@markpasenter2 When you apply to Cornell, you can only be accepted to the one school to which you applied, so it’s that or nothing. That being said, Cornell does take a holistic approach to applications. Unless SOE requires a science subject test (I never even considered SOE so I don’t know), you wouldn’t get rejected “automatically”.
From an informed source… I learned that Cornell is done with 99 % of decisions…what do they do for the rest of time between now and 3/31
Cornell has been done with decisions for like 2 weeks lol, they’re just blinded by the Ivy League agreement to release them on 3/31
@rik123 - sleep?
I submitted my app kind of last minute, so I rushed to check if SAT subject tests were required for the school I applied to, and I mistakenly saw that they were… I had only taken the tests once, and my scores were pretty average I suppose (actually pretty bad for Cornell standards). Do you guys think that since they weren’t really required it won’t hurt my chances too badly? It was such a dumb mistake lol
@erd2020 I dont think it will hurt you too much
General question guys… how important are supplemental documents… I realized that I did not send in any in time but I could have to substantiate the ECs I have listed… I did submit the resume though on Common APP and Im pretty sure Counselor mentioned some of my ECs in his letter cause I gave him my activities sheet…
@rik123 Most applicants should not send supplementary materials; the main exceptions include art/music supplements and new achievement.
