Does anyone know if Cornell is more competitive for the CS major in CAS or for the CS major in the college of engineering?
To add on to mads, is the near eastern studies major in CAS competitive as well? I indicated that I speak Arabic and have access to those countries. I need all the hooks I can get :-@
OK guys I did some calculations because I have nothing better to do and I’m nervous.
Based off this website posted on here before:
http://irp.dpb.cornell.edu/tableau_visual/admissions
Architecture…: 16.6%
CAS: 14.77%
ALS: 14.73%
Engineering: 13.51%
Hotel Adm: whopping 28.6%
Human Ecology: another whopping 25.02%
ILR: 13.82%
These are based off the numbers from the website, showing what percentage of kids that applied to those colleges were accepted. I do not know if your chances of getting accepted to Cornell is higher if say you applied to hotel Adm instead of CAS for example, but maybe the kids applying to hotel Adm had higher test scores/gpas than the kids in CAS. IDK. JUST CRUNCHING NUMBERS TILL THE 31st. :-SS
@CapYoss I have a friend who applied ED to Cornell this cycle and to view your decision, they give you a whole new login on a different portal. It should be coming out real soon.
@mads94 All ivy leagues will be releasing their decisions on Thursday March 31st at 5PM EST
@venice1 Wow, that’s hard for me to wrap my head around, but you guys still have incredible options. Congrats! I am coming to believe what’s meant to be is meant to be. This process has been so unpredictable. I’m sure Cornell will work out for you.
@Princetonian9 thanks, appreciate it
Just got into Georgetown hoping for here
Does anyone know if I could be automatically rejected/waitlisted if I applied for aid and didn’t submit all of my forms? There’s a complicated family situation involving tax filing and even though I called Cornell to try to sort it out they still haven’t fixed it. I’m not going to get any aid anyways with a family income of >250k per year but I’m worried that they won’t even consider me for acceptance because I “didn’t finish” my aid application
@hayley636 don’t worry. Cornell’s admissions are need blind. They have no idea about your financial info. If you are admitted then they send your file to financial aid office to be worked on. I filled out fafsa and css but didn’t sent tax returns in either. They will give you an estimate based on the data they have and it will be corrected after you file your returns and send the copies to IDOC. It will not affect your decision.
@LIParent101 thank you so much!
Hi @CautiousOptimist I saw you on the Princeton SCEA thread!
Please relax a little (though it’s quite impossible at this time) as all the decisions have been made, I’m sure you’ll get into schools that you like, be it Princeton or Cornell or somewhere else. All the best on the Ivy Day! Stay optimistic wink
Thank you thank you for posting this…we are in the same boat…
I was wondering the same thing. We are still waiting for documents and I am very worried that we have caused a problem. Also I think we qualify for so little what was the point, should I just pull the unfinished application?
Just got the notification date and time email from Cornell
^same! email with decision date confirmed
also received the notification date and time email from Cornell
I didn’t
Do LL recipients not get the email? I haven’t received one yet
Maybe they send it in waves by location or school?
@glasshours I didn’t get a LL
