Congrats to those accepted~ Anyone get in for fall for CAS?
Anyone got in for CALS AEM?
Hi I’m new here.
Based on what I’ve seen on last year’s thread, I was wondering two things.
If they can’t fit you into the school you had applied to, would they put you into another school?
And is it true that they give guarantee transfers to a lot of people on the waitlist?
Hey guys,
I called the CoE yesterday and they told me that they probably won’t be going to the waitlist. I’ve been crying ever since.
dchn - They would not put you in another school since each school makes its own admissions decisions. Your application was to the particular school you applied to. Each school has its own waitlist as well.
I don’t think they give a lot of GT’s to waitlisted kids, The waitlist is huge.
It happened. Last year, there was someone previously applied to the Econ major at CAS and was waitlisted, she didn’t hear back from Cornell till June about whether she would prefer another program at the College of Ecology, I don’t know if she ended up accepting the offer, but I know there’s a possibility for you to be accepted by the school other than the one you applied earlier. However, this is a very small chance, I believe the girl mentioned that she’s pretty experienced and successful in the fashion designing industry and would like to have her own line someday, that’s why she wanted to study business. Probably Cornell valued her fashion talents more that her entrepreneurial skills.
Also, last year for the regular applicants, Cornell University received a total 41,900 applicants, 6,315 applicants were admitted and 3,180 were enrolled. For the wait list statistics, there were 3,583 applicants offered a place on the wait list, 2,231 applicants accepting the waitlist offer and 81 were take off the waitlist. I wouldn’t say the wait list is huge, but it’s definitely competitive to get off it.
I feel as if this year’s waitlist is especially competitive since this year Cornell received more applicants than it ever did throughout its history.
I got CALS spring admission few days ago. XD The admission officer first sent me an email asking if I am still interested in joining Cornell in spring, and I said yes! Then, the officer nominated me to the selection committee, and I got admitted the next day.
Good luck to all of you guys!!!
BTW, I am in environmental and sustainability science major.
Anybody hear today?
@shirleyyyb Did you send a letter of continued interest?
Anybody has got any updates on CALS AEM program? Are they going to the wait list this year? Has anyone got any offers yet?
I called CALS today and they said haven’t decided if they’re going to use the waitlist yet.
But a couple of people here said that they’ve received offers from CALS already.
That’s because they are spring admission
Hey did anyone get anything? If not I’m hope long end of May so these next two weeks?
Guys don’t give up! I have a relative who got off the waitlist for CALS AEM 3 years ago but she attends Uchicago now
I emailed my regional officer like a week ago… no reply…RIP. Seems they’re not offering fall admission to Arts and Science people RIP x2
Yeah, CAS isn’t looking too promising either. Out of curiosity, is any school taking waitlist applicants this year??
Does cornell send u an email if they accept u off the waitlist?
