Cornell Club Tennis Team

Hey everyone,

I just have a small question for people that know something about the Cornell Club Tennis team. I am a current student that really enjoys playing tennis, and I am searching for people to play with in an organized and competitive fashion. Does anyone have any information regarding the Cornell Club Tennis Team because their website is woefully out of date. Does the team play a lot of matches against other universities, how often do they practice, how good at the players, when are the tryouts for next semester, and how much would it cost to join the team if I make it through the tryouts?

Thanks!

The club team plays at a very high level. They practice several times a week and yes, they do play a lot of matches against other schools. The men’s team is notoriously difficult to make and every year there are usually only a handful of spots up for grabs. The women’s team is slightly easier to make only in the sense that fewer people tend to tryout.

Is there anything below the club level in terms of tennis at Cornell? I might be able to make the club team, but I am not entirely sure.

incoming freshman here. I play varsity in high school, but probably not up to par for club tennis. Intramural available?

Intramural tennis isnt that good. I tried playing Co-Ed doubles and there were only 4 times signed up in the entire bracket. On top of that, the administration that handles the intramural sports is extremely poor. While my partner and I won the first match and submitted our scores, we never played the second match. Also, in intramural the skill level in tennis varies. There are a few people that played quit often during high school and there are also people that only started playing tennis a few weeks ago.

We have a Rec-Tennis team. I believe if you Cornell people search Woojin Kim you can email him about joining. We play at Reis tennis center during winter (we reserve courts) and outside obvi during warm months.
