I intend to study CS and am interested in pursuing undergraduate research in Human Computer Interaction or Machine Learning. I am in-state for UW, so cost of attendance for it is about $27k and for Cornell, about $70k. Cornell offers a wider array of opportunities in CS research and more CS clubs I’m interested in (ie., Data Science club). However, I do think UW will still offer me many of these opportunities in some fashion. Is it worth the effort (sending in LOCI, extra letters of recommendation) to try to get off the Cornell waitlist?
Take your UW acceptance and run! No way is it worth the extra $ and there are no guarantees you’ll come off the waitlist no matter what you send in. CS at UW is awesome. Congrats!
