Applying for physics major

Schools:
Cornell (A&S)
Columbia
Cooper Union
Duke
Princeton

Nice stats. Wish I could trade your SAT math for my CR.

Schools:
Cornell (A&S): Low reach (High match if you write good essays)
Columbia: Reach
Cooper Union: Mid-reach
Duke: Reach
Princeton: High reach

I would apply to safety schools like Penn State, University of Maryland, UVA, and maybe a SUNY University such as Stony Brook. Your extracurricular activities are good, and it depends if you write a stellar essay for some of these schools. Good luck wherever you end up.

Pretty good chances, considering your superscore passes the threshold needed to be competitive. Also your GPA isn’t that low, but it could have been better had it been higher.

I would say you have solid chances at all of your schools, again they are Ivies + Cooper and Duke so it’s tough to give you an actual chance, but by the looks of your stats, you won’t be thrown away. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were admitted to at least one of these schools. Good luck!

All reaches. I’m guessing the 3.7 doesn’t put you near the top of your class (colleges will know an approximate rank) and your CR score is well below median for all of these schools. That will make them tough for an ORM from an overrepresented state.

For your best shot at one of these, you might consider a land grant school at Cornell as a NY resident.

Well, the GPA is kind of low for Ivy league schools. The SAT I is a bit low too, but the SAT IIs are awesome! Your extracurriculars are interesting. If you had some leadership positions it would help a lot. I’d have to say that Cornell, Columbia, and Duke are low to middle reaches, Princeton is a high reach (as it is for everyone). Good luck!
