I just went to check my tiny apartment mailbox, and I thought someone had shoved a freaking phone book in there, but it turns out it's Cornell's course catalogue. I don't know what to make of it. I've applied and heard nothing back other than that they have everything they need, just like everyone else. Now it's just making me anxious. Has anyone else gotten one?

everyone gets those, even those who are rejected...so dont think that just cuz you get one, you are in.

I don't think I ever said I did, but thank you for the information.

yeah i got one too...its from this year, so they are probably just trying to get rid of them

It must cost to much to mail to my location!

lol no...where are you from?? they could have not had enough copies to send to everyone, maybe just the people in CAS or who applied first? i got mine like 2 weeks ago

I applied to CALS and I got one.

DAMN. I was so hopeful.

I was CAS. I'm in the middle U.S.

lol, the moment I saw this huge book by my door,I knew I would find this topic on CC.I don't get it: why do they think we need those old catalogues???

sending catalogues makes some students read through it, find courses they're interested in, and become more interested in the school as a result.

If said student happens to be a desireable (top) applicant, having sent the catalogue will increase the college's chance of getting that student.

Plus I'm pretty sure Cornell as a big educational institution gets mad subsidies on postage/etc of the educational material it sends out.

Finally got mine, albeit a little roughed up.

Since this thread has to do with Cornell sending seemingly fortuitous things, I'd like to chime in....Today I recieved a letter from cornell saying they need som Fin. Aid info from me, at first I shrugged it off because I know that the FA office is separate of the admissions. But now that I think about it, they have been sending out decisions lately, and maybe they'd like to start working on my fin. aid.... I'm reaching aint I? (BTW its CAS)

I got one too, dated the 19th. I thought the same thing as you, I can only hope our speculations might be more than that!
