DC wants to apply for Cornell CS, but is confused which college to apply to. Both CoE and A&S offer CS programs: B.Sc in the former and B.A in the latter.
What are the differences between them?
TIA.

CS requirements are the same, however CAS has more humanities based requirements, including foreign language, while COE has more science based requirements such as Physics and Chem. It really comes down to personal preference. In COE you take Calculus 3 for Engineers and in CAS you just take Calculus 3. They’re the exact same course, same book, etc, however a few years ago they were one course but the engineers were setting the curve so they ultimately split them off. COE students must take the ones called “for Engineers”.
You can go to each respective website and see the requirements. You can also go to the CS page and see the checklist (it’s a pdf) for CS in CAS and CS in COE to see the different overall requirements. It is very helpful.
